People will attack with threats of insurance being voided and arrests by DOT. They won’t be able to cite any documented examples, but they know they’re out there :)

Obviously if doing this work daily a bigger truck would make sense, but as a fellow Mojave driver typing this with a trailer attached I say props to you and the whole assembly crew :)
It's just like the claims insurance won't cover you off road. Unless you're an asshole cutting trail through the forest, the trail is a road. Fire road, forest service road, marked trail of any kind. You aren't "off road" you're off pavement and yes you're covered. Insurance covers dumb and illegal. Blow a red light and t-bone a bus full of nuns hammered... you're still covered. And people some how think that because they loaded too much wood in the trailer they won't be covered? Obviously it could play into determining fault, but you're still covered. Further, if the other guy is at fault, the fact that you were 1,000lbs over weight is irrelevant.

I hope you don’t have any fires this year!
Crossing our fingers. Like last year, we prep our evacuation bags and leave them in the camper ready to go.

Cool. These ground screws are designed to be driven into the ground by a high power torque wrench. If your ground is rocky like ours then they may not work.
If the ground is rocky (but not too rocky), you can dig it out with posthole diggers/shovel, then drop it in & cement it in place.

A little more work but it would be very solid.

Ratings are suggestions not mandates. Guess what happens when I carry a 70lb window, tools to install it, and my 260lb ass 12' up a 300lb rated ladder? Nothing.
The perfect game of FAFO lol.

If you make a habit of pushing the limits, you will find them sometimes. Sometimes that lesson is painful. Sometimes it's expensive. Usually it's just inconvenient. Some people are fine believing everything they hear, read, or have suggested to them. Some of us need to find out for ourselves.

Especially if you dig it out a little wider at the bottom than the top. Just angle the posthole diggers to the sides as you drive them down. Provides a VERY strong anchor that way. Just empty a couple bags of SackCrete into the hole with the anchor and water it.
