I am currently in the Colorado Alpine Loop area this week breaking in my newish 21 Rubicon. I am learning all the gadgets as I do the trails and I have to say this vehicle is simply amazing compared to my old TJ. I find the tool I am using the most is the offroad button setting that allows you to keep your gear and speed ultra low. Using this thing is like cheating and the jeep virtually drives itself up and down the extreme rocky grades. No brake or gas needed, just pick your lines and steer!

Now the bad part. Heading out to Animas Forks late this afternoon and there was a caravan of Toyota rigs coming in. Driving like bats out of hell and blowing by vehicles on narrow parts of the trail. All of them at once. Complete and dangerous jerks. I cannot see a pack of jeeps ever doing this. All the jeeps were giving way, driving carefully and courteously, and generally just behaving as you would want someone to out there.

So far this week I have picked up an old man that fell on the sidewalk in Silverton, changed a flat on a minivan in Lake City, and stayed at Animas Forks until a guy in an old CJ could fix his fuel pump to make sure he could get back. Didn't know any of them. It's just what Jeep people do.

I am a Christian and don't wish evil on anyone, but I hope the Big Guy has some really special trail breakdowns scheduled.for the Toyota jerks....

Agree with your assessment on Yota drivers. Jeepers are always friendly and willing to assist. The "jeep envy" crowd, not so much.

Ran a trail recently with a friend that has never been off roading. Pulled over to let a Taco pass. He commented that the woman in the passenger seat was glaring at us. I had to explain the rivalry.
Always remember, "he who angers you, controls you." I know great Yota guys and Jeep guys and and and .....I also have had run ins with dicks. My personal opinion is that trails are the last place to be aggro. If you are in Ouray when I get there next week, I'll buy you a beer.

I'm leaving Sunday but I'll drink some Woodford for ya tonight! Lol.

I know I'm probably generalizing but these guys were really being dangerous and again, I just can't see a pack of jeeps doing this. Never have anyway. I have run some toyotas myself in the past.

And he lives in Tacoma. :like:

There is probably a thread on the taco forums called "Jeep Jerks", haha. That being said, I appreciate YOU driving carefully and respecting the trails, I've picked my team, and I tend to agree with you.

I don't know about the Jeep vs Toyota thing. I've seen more Wrangler knuckle head bros around here than Yotas. More so on the streets than trails. I run own both and enjoy both. I also wave to everybody on the trails like a dork. :)
I do myself!

Same thing happened to me in that general area coming down Bear Creek from Engineer about a month ago. Group of 10 Raptors came flying up. Those things are much too wide, especially with idiot drivers

Is just the polarization taking over humanity. If a person doesn't see it your way, they are wrong and have less or no value.

I've go no issues with the Toyota brand, they build a quality product too, but theTacoma is not a natural born rough trail vehicle like the JT is so I went with what would work best for me?
