Searched for a good bit and didn’t see anything relatable to what I just experienced. Took the truck to Lowe’s, about a 15 minute drive with 10 or so on the highway. Drove normal, sat for a half hour. We left and merging on the highway I had a rough shift but didn’t really think anything of it as it wasn’t horrible. About 2 miles or so later it starting to stumble bad while accelerating. Almost to the point of having to pull over. Putting it I manual seemed to help the up shifts and got us back up to speed. After getting off the highway it seemed to be fine. Anyone have this happen? Truck is a 2021 3.6 8spd with almost 69k on it.

With 69000 miles you should take in for a transmission service

Yeah that’s my next plan, they talked me out of it at 50k and convinced me it was lifetime. I know that’s nonsense and probably should have had it done.

Did you check for any codes or messages or anything?
How full is your gas tank? Are you at the end of a tank - aka - bad gas?

1/2 a tank of gas, no messages or lights. Going to scan for codes in a bit here. It was just so sudden with no real prior symptoms.

Just had my 2020 fluids all changed. Tranny, front and rear diffs., transfer case. I only have 33k on the clock. First thing I noticed was the tranny was shifting smoother.
I'm thinking about doing this on my 2023. I have just over 35k miles on it.

FYI.. Just had the 2021 with 42K done- we had no issues or codes; did for maintenance..Did the pan and Filter (filter is part of the pan). Did the Diffs and transfer case in the driveway; had the dealer do the trans.

I had a similar situation about a month ago. I was about 30 miles from home. I was in a store for maybe 20 minutes. When I left, I immediately felt my transmission shifting harder than normal when I pulled out on the road. I was concerned as I knew it wasn't normal.

I had about a 10 minute drive on side roads before I got on the interstate. This hard shifting continued. When I got on the interstate, I first thought everything was fine, Traffic was heavy and I was riding in the right lane running about 70 MPH. When I went to accelerate to keep up with traffic, the truck stumbled. I first thought it was the engine missing, but as it happened a couple more times, I thought the rear end or trans was vibrating. It kinda felt like I was driving over rumble strips.

It scared me enough to get off at the next exit and take sides roads the rest of the way home. I let it sit for a couple of hours, and went back out trying to recreate the situation, and was unable to.

Some observations I made while the vibration was originally happening.......trans temp was at 195. No lights or warnings. It seemed to happen when I was lugging in 7th or 8th gear between 1750 and 2000 rpm. I've now put 600 more trouble free miles on and have not had it reoccur. I also had no codes stored anywhere when I checked with Jscan. AI thinks it maybe a one time situation and thinks it maybe attributed to a bad sensor reading throwing off hydraulic pressure causing torque converter shudder. Restarting the vehicle reset everything.

Fluid changes are cheap insurance for longevity.

I did front and rear diffs at 35K along with an oil change to LM SpecialTec.

I'm at 37K now and about to replace the possibly sticky and leaking thermostat and leaking coolant reservoir with the Mishimoto parts and since I'm in there, flush the system. In a few more weeks I'm planning on dumping the transmission fluid and flushing the brakes.

That is almost spot on to my experience, hopefully I get the same conclusion tomorrow morning, a fluid/filter change is definitely in the near future. I will keep this thread updated with what happens.
