It would really help if Jeep's website allowed you to search nationwide, or if a website like cars.com or autotrader.com allowed you to laser in on all the options. Tall order, I know!
In the keywords search box, put in the different package names. Also you can search nationwide in autotrader.

how many times per year will you use offroad+?
How many times a year will you use 4 Low and under what conditions? Do you think the rubicon 4 low transfer case will help you or hurt you? (sometimes you dont want all that low gearing)
Also keep in mind you can easily get rubicon/Mojave suspension take-off's.
id look at aftermarket bumpers vs mopar options.
Its going to be hard to beat a max tow sport honestly. (I have a mojave)

I’ve been convinced the Willys trim was in my wheelhouse but now seriously considering the Sport S with max tow. Now if I can get those Willys wheels on the Sport S....?

I didn't think to search by package names... ?

You know, this is up in the air right now and I would actually need a bit of help answering those questions. My life right now, hopefully, will be completely different a year from now, and I will buy with that in mind when that change is certain. I don't need 4x4 at all where I am now, which hurts just to type. I was born in the mountains... I miss them. If things work out, I will need 4x4 for going "off-road" (read off pavement, not rock crawling), and 4LO for hills and tricky areas in snow, etc. I used all of that regularly growing up. Off road + is foreign to me... How much does anyone use that? How much does it help you, and when? As far as lockers go, I can see where this would be really useful, but I honestly can't say how much I'd be faced with times where I need it.

I'm also wondering about Selec-Trac/Rock-Trac full-time 4WD. Anyone think it's worth it, or not? I'd still switch it into 2H for normal driving and 4Auto/4H only when I need it.

absolutely, check the Willys club thread
Thanks, will do.

Yeah, it's a toss up. The Willys gives you things like rock sliders and LSD with it, but you can't get the Dana 44s. I'm actually not crazy about the Willys wheels. I like the Rubican/Mojave ones best!

I hear ya. For me I knew I wanted the better axles and 4.10's. I couldnt find a max tow so this mojave caught my eye, alot of beefed up components. I figured I might be more likely to use 4- low on a snow covered street than on a trail somewhere, so that kinda put the rubicon off my list. Although the front locker is handy I dont plan to wheel this beyond just average trails maybe. (im not looking to bang it up and scratch the hell out of it and KY trails are notoriously tight) So for me the Mojave found a sweet spot, towing wasnt horrible, offroad seemed capable enough for what I wanted and the daily driver aspect was great. Win/Win. Those are just the kinda things you have to look at and think about. I try and be realistic and practical. If i were to do it over i would heavily consider a diesel sport.

I would suggest Mojave or rubicon. Due to the fact you want as capable as possible in factory form without lifting it. They have the clearance for the bigger tires and already have lockers.

What part of the country are you in OP? Gupton Motors in Springfield TN has huge discounts on factory orders. Up to 8% below factory invoice. I was lucky enough to be only 250 miles away and ordered a Mojave from Daniel and had a hassle free experience closing the deal. Some on this forum have flown into Nashville and drove home. Check out the threads on this forum for more info.

That's exactly my thinking as well. I grew up in WV, so I am really familiar with KY!

Yeah, those are big factors. I do like the extra payload of the Willys and Sport S Max Tow, though. Weight adds up quickly with bumpers and a family and such.

I'm in Savannah, GA right now, so I'm about 530 miles away. But I'll be moving this year. Happy about it! Depending on where we go, I would definitely order one from him. I've seen his name a dozen times on this forum already. I would definitely travel to get the right truck and right experience.

I spent the last 2 months going thru the same thing, which one do I want? They all are great. For me I do not plan to do extreme rock crawling and I will spend way more time on road than off. The Rubicon is made more for offroading. I liked the Mojave suspension much more than the Rubi. The Willys would be a great option for anyone who doesn't think they'll tow more than 4-5k lbs.
For me though my primary want is to get a capable truck that I like and then do some off-roading on occasion. The Sport Max Tow seems to fit the bill for me. I haven't got mine yet, waiting for this one to come into my dealer here this week. But I plan to add some larger 35"wheels/tires and a spacer kit on the spings. Then add a molle rack and bedcover and I should be good.

I had to build one on Jeep.com then there’s an option to search for it. Found one I wanted and grabbed it from them since Tate Branch didn’t want to sell one.

OP, it kinda sounds like you’re off highway a bit. If so the Mojave is really hard to beat for running two tracks and lease roads. I and any passengers I’ve had while running those situations are blown away by how well it handles. The road to our farm was driven around 5-10mph in my Denali 3500 or the wife’s Burban. The Mojave will take it at 50, I don’t due to other residents, but have.

A lot of my trail driving is while hunting, so I am alone in that there are no other Jeeps to get me out of trouble. Therefore, I tend towards the conservative. In fact, I have gone everywhere I want without using the lockers when I had a JKUR. I prefer slower over trying to run the Baja race. I have a Ram diesel for towing, but I wanted to maximize towing capability to have a backup vehicle. I actively looked for the max tow version, strolling through dealership lots and looking for the fender flares.

All Gladiators have Dana 44s, Max Tow package, Rubicon and Mojave have wide track Dana 44, which adds 1.5 inches in total length. May be helpful in some situations, mainly running bigger tires without wheels spacers (different wheels with different offset can accomplish this as well) but not a deal breaker IMO

Yeah, I have similar wants/needs. I bet you're excited to get yours next week!

I've gone through the Build and Price section of the Jeep website probably 30 times. There's never an instance where the current new inventory matches what I want... Not even close. I'm probably stuck with ordering.

Yeah the Mojave suspension does seem really great for what I'd use the truck for, and that's a big selling point for me. Nice to hear it from someone who's actually experienced its benefits.

That's good to know. I'm wondering how useful the lockers will be for me, since I won't be Baja racing or rock-crawling either. If I got into those situations it'd be 1-5% of the driving I do.

Ah, thanks for correcting me. I didn't realize it was just the length.
