The windshield on my wife's JLU with NON-Gorilla Glass got hit, teeny chip, and cracked a few inches.
Should be easy to find - it's not got ACC and so on.

Getting the windshield in my wife's JLU replaced free thanks to a service contract we bought with her Jeep. Almost forget we had that coverage. It gets replaced on Wednesday - it's in stock.

What does acoustic printed on the glass mean?
Quieter.
It has a sound absorbing layer of PVB - the layer between the inner and outer layer of glass. It's part of the meat in the sandwich.
It's more expensive than your cheaper windshields - so if you save a few bucks and buy the Safelite specials or other glass cheaper than the MOPAR, you likely are not getting acoustic glass.

(what I found on the web as far as how much it helps -
Depending on frequencies of the sound - some say from 6 to 2 dB.)

Pleasantly surprised with the optical quality of my recently installed Pro Optics Windshield Defense - 3 layer film applied on brand new Gorilla Glass - takes about a week to reach maximum clarity and if you follow the instructions carefully it is a pretty easy self install. I'm in the sign business so if you have any doubts a local sign shop would probably charge an hour to do the job.

Took a very small rock the other day and if just bounced off, didn't hardly make a sound - let alone a mark. The idea is you run with the 3 layers for 6 months or more and at some point you can easily peel back to expose your second layer - with still one more underneath.

200 merican from Summit Racing Extremely satisfied with the product as my Gorilla Glass did a self destruct after 750 clicks and it took 3.5 months to get it replaced under warranty.

Nothing like giving a great big smile after a windshield killing rock casually bounces off while causing no damage! Thank God for mine..

MY wife's Jeep is normal acoustic glass - with the hassles getting things replaced without a total disaster of some sort - if I could SEE the stuff in action - actually SEE it, I might be tempted to get that for her Jeep. We're going through crap now getting 3 major dash parts replaced and the windshield frame repaired after a safelite guy really screwed up things. 3 grand of repairs plus safelite is furnishing my wife a loaner vehicle.
But it took me a lot of hours and driving to get it resolved so for a couple hundred bucks...............

Dude i hate you are going through this crap. I can vouch for the acrylic barrier on mine that it has taken some hits and is still in perfect shape. except for the most minuscule pits that you have to try really hard to see. And it has built in UV protection.

Might be worth looking into for hers.

I've been using a product that's supposed to help strengthen glass, and makes it a crazy great water shedder (it also makes it so bugs don't stick very well - the windshield is a breeze to clean with that product) so I wonder how that shield would compare as far as bugs and water shedding - often, don't even need wipers.

I use rain x windshield repellent, and Rain x windshield wipers, I barely use the wipers except in heavy rain.

The race guys are using this concept on their helmets as well. 200mph impacts and they can pull a layer off and keep on going.
