Both our Grand Cherokee FOBs had an issue where the metal contact disks between the rubber and circuit board became dislodged and wreaked all kinds of havoc. Anything from remote start not working to random alarms with no way to disable short of disconnecting the battery. See here for an example:



I have no idea if the newer Gladiator FOBs are constructed similarly. Might be worth a quick disassemble though. Especially if your FOB has ever been through the washing machine........or completely submerged in the cup holder after getting caught in a rainstorm. Ask me how I know.

OP here, reporting back. This incident happened almost a year ago, and never happened again. There is some good info being posted lately, thanks all.
