WOW. Those shots are spectacular. That would be a dream trip in my opinion but my truck would need a lot of upgrades to tackle that. Thanks for sharing and making us jealous.
You have a Mojave? Then as long as you have 35's you can do it going westbound no problem. They definitely took the harder direction up but even then just careful placement it would be fine. The notch I would say is harder uphill and the toughest obstacle in that direction.

I did it in a Freedom with the rear LSD. There's only one fair obstacle on the Ashcroft side that I took a couple looks at before picking my line. As soon as the rear locked up puttered up just fine. I definitely sent it downhill faster then I should of but weather was moving in. Got the scrapes to prove it.

Yes I have a Mojave but have the stock 33 A/T's as of now. May go up in size when I need new tires. Only have 11,000 miles so far and don't do any crazy off road at this point in my area. I would love to take a trip out to your area one day and take in some of the sights and trails. The closest I've been was when we went to Sedona a few years ago for the week. I didn't have my jeep back then but knowing what I know now I would have at least rented one and done a few things off road. We did go on a jeep/winery tour that was a lot of fun. We had a great time that week and went non stop the entire time we were there.

Love it! I think the San Rafael Swell is a very underrated area of Utah. Hoping it stays that way. Black Dragon is awesome! I looked for 4 years and never found the bad view of Utah 🤣 I got snowed on at Engineer Pass on the 4th of July weekend, but, WOW! what views

same !! The last three years the big LJ on tons n 43”s has been out like 6 times but the JT has been to the rubicon three times , Moab 7 times and many trips out west in between ;)
Great photos thanks for sharing. Time and priority changes in life do that to you. On rock crawling and other stuff.

My mind won't allow me to do high shelf roads any more. I get an anxiety attack and freeze up.
I'm with you there now myself.... in my youth I've hung out the side of helicopters with one hand taking pictures with the other. Did free climbing, I gave that one up when setting on a ledge in mountain. I was looking out and thinking about it. Otherwise what changed my state of mind might have been sliding down steep grade into cold deep water on a hike.

Incredibly beautiful pictures!

I didn't realize you could put a RTT on an A.R.E. cap? I didn't think it could support the weight. I also have a CX Classic A.R.E. cap, but haven't gotten a RTT due to this concern. Have you been ok using that setup?

Thanks.

Beautiful pictures and thanks for posting. I took the wife and kids (ages 11 & 13) out to Moab this past April for Spring Break up thru Colorado and back down thru NM and TX. 5000 miles round trip from SC in 10 days and we spent 6 days around Moab. My forth time there but kids first. Colorado was still snowing, so I need to plan another trip for summer just for Colorado. Your post helps inspire me.
