I recently bought a VP4R-A from a 2018 JLU, put it in and it started up fine. A bit of backstory I have a 2020 Gladiator Sport S that originally came with the 5in super basic screen, my climate controls are single zone with no power/volume knobs. I had upgraded to a 7in early on with a 2022 Wrangler VP2_7 JL NA and again everything worked fine.
To the main point of this post I followed this upgrade guide as my new 8.4in was running version 22.42.11. I used a flash drive and it completed successfully for the 40.1 update. After it restarted I even saw all the .jar file popups from them updating, I waited for that to finish before powering off.

The thing is now my software version shows 22.34.11
So it actually downgraded somehow, but putting in the 40.1 upgrade USB shows update unavailable since version is the same.
The only piece I do see upgraded is the bootmicro version from 20.04.01 to 22.16.01
Anyone experienced this? It’s been over 12hrs since upgrade so not sure if anything is just lagging behind showing the update and even weirder showing a downgraded version.
Everything works fine, I just wanted to upgrade as I got it cheap for $200 cause it supposedly had Bluetooth issues for the previous owner. Although that is a non issue for me anyways with a wired wireless CarPlay adapter.
Thanks for reading.
