Does anyone know what is required to get the UCONNECT app to work outside of the USA. I can download the app from the US App store but what are the differences other than that we would need to change to make it work. I know we don't have an option for WIFI. Is this a different unit or a module we can add in and update the software on the unit. I have the 8.4" touch screen with an Australian Spec Rubicon

You need to talk to the dealer and see if any of the services are available to you. If so, the dealer should have signed you up at the time of purchase. The Uconnect APP uses the same login info as your Jeep/Mopar account. It just shows vehicle info, and provides the ability for Remote Start and Lock/Unlock. The back-end is managed by SiriusXM satellite radio, in the USA, and connects primarily through the AT&T Cellular Network. Some software updates are done OTA through the cellular network, some are available to download from the Mopar site, and the rest have to be done by the dealer.

Thanks for that, the dealers here didn't even realize that it was an option. We don't have Sirius XM in Australia so Ill have to work out if we can put a Sim card in it or if its a physically a different unit here. Would be nice to have these features.
I wonder if there are any aftermarket modules that would allow this to work

FCA may not have it setup for any of the features to be available in your country. If the 8.4 Uconnect does not have the option to activate the wireless hotspot, then the cellular connection in it is likely disabled, if it exists at all.
