Just installed one — primary reason for doing so was cooling.

Really didn’t like the look of it when I first saw the introduction photos.

Kinda taken aback by how much better it looks in person.

I ordered mine a month ago and just got informed that it still is on backorder and might be shipped to me by the end of the month! Long wait.

Is putting a 24 grille on an earlier JT the same as putting the Rubicon hood stickers on a Sport? ??
?? Nice, but IMO, it's not the same, not at all.

Adding Rubicon stickers to a Sport is kind of silly (or pathetic), who is the owner trying to fool or impress? To me, it's silly and no different than buying a KIA SUV and then changing the emblems to BMW.

Where as physical modifications, like swapping grilles, changing mirrors, or adding flat fenders is about form, function, and/or style (usually).

But all 24+ models have the new grille. Sport all the way up to Rubicon.

Rubicon stickers on a sport isn’t really comparable.

So I havent went through every page in this thread. Not sure if anyone has came across this or mentioned it yet.

But I'm looking for anyone that's maybe added the new grille with having the steel OEM rubicon bumper with a warn winch plate and winch?. Looking for that specific set up since I know with different winches, winch plates, and bumpers winches can sit at different heights and angles in relation to the grille.

I have a new 2024 grille on preorder (still havent received yet) but I'm wondering if I'm going to have to either remove the bumper/winch all together or at very least remove the skid plate underneath to access the winch where it bolts to the plate enough to maybe loosen to make wiggle room to install the grill and remove the old. I know as of now, my cables sit pretty tight against the bottom on the current grille.

I'm really hoping I don't have to. Would be such a pain in the ass for such a simple upgrade.

Funny how time has a way of changing perspectives.

Back when I first saw the 2024 grill design, I didn't care it. IMO it looked too much like the Renegade's grill (I'm not a Renegade fan). Then, of course, the more I looked at it, and compared it to the previous version, the more it's grown on me.

History really does repeat itself. ?

It happened when I owned Rangers (I've owned several).

Again when I owned Tacomas (I've also owned several).

New grill pros:
  1. Appears to greatly increase above-bumper clearance.
  2. Appears to increase airflow.
  3. Provides for a lower forward-facing profile (IMO, looks sportier).
New grill cons:
  1. More cheap Jeep plastic to fad and oxidize.
  2. It's a bit expensive (as in cash probably better sent else were, subjective).
  3. Possible after-purchase regrets (see previous/above).
  4. 2024 grill swap does not include new infotainment screen (I like the wider screen).
In the end, the increased airflow and above-bumper clearance seems to be enough rational to make the mod.

✌

Looks good! Did you purchase it as a completed unit, or did you assemble it yourself?

Completed and painted assembly from Distinction Applied.

They were great to work with and did an excellent job with the paint and shipping.

... Precision Expedited.
Looks outstanding, I believe it's the first swap I've seen without the camera-bracket, it looks much cleaner. I picked one up, but it has the camera bracket which I want to swap-out. Unfortunately the parts diagram doesn't seem to match the actual grille

I wonder if it would have any impact on things when a snow plow is on the front?.........

Problem - plow on front creates a low pressure area between back side of plow and grill.
This low pressure area pulls engine bay air FORWARD, out of the engine bay and across the ambient air temperature sensor located at the top of the driver side grill slot.
That makes it think it's 100 degrees out when it's 10 degrees, shutting off HVAC heat in the cab.
It also causes the engine to run a bit warmer - you'll see engine temps of 220 (that's not hot, folks, just weird for winter) when it's 10 or 20 degrees outside.
So it's impacting air across the radiator as well as pulling engine bay air across the temp sensor.
If the grill slots were just a bit higher........... I've not really compared - do the grill slot tops go higher on the new grill than the original?
