I have an Upper Decker - I love it. Here is a video I made showing some mods I made to make it safer and to deal with some issues I think the original had with the hinges. Thanks to @Pat2Alaska - he sold it to me and helped me install it for the drive home. The Rhino lining he put on has held up very well.
Also - some photos of it in use. It very versatile and IMHO the best mod I made to my JT.
Using a ceiling mounted hoist to take it on and off:
Carrying bikes - being able to raise and lower with a bike mounted...
Carrying large heavy items with confidence - my ARB Bondi Deluxe and Hard Rock 4x4 sliders coming back from getting rhino lined:
A wooden frame I built to carry canoes - its raised high so I can still raise the Upper Decker. I made the drank longer than just the 5ft bed because some of the canoes I carry are 20ft long. The frame is a total of 8ft long and 75 inches wide - enough to carry two Wenonah Champlains (19ft x 36 inches) although what you see in the photo below is a single Wenonah MN 2.
Next project is getting an ATV up there... its going to be tight!
