I was watching the video of all the JT builds from SEMA and saw the topper from Venturous Overland. Looks pretty awesome and is only like 65lbs! Anyone have any info or experience with this?

definitely intriguing. I don't have a real need for a cap but this is the way I'd go if I did. Cant find any real downsides. It's expensive but so are the steel caps

I'd never heard of it but at a fraction of the weight and coming in at roughly the same prices as Alu-Cab and such it seems like a pretty cool thing.

I sent them an email asking for a little more info for the JT cap and did not get a response, so will be watching here. We're looking at getting one, but kind of want a vendor that is close by rather than 400+ miles away.

I am between the alu cab and this one. I saw the venturous was offering a bunch of extras if ordered before end of feb. I was hoping someone who owns one would pop on with a review.

Their dealer network is lacking I like everything about them but closest dealer to me is 4+ hours away.

I ended up just ordering an Alu Cab. With the direction I’d like my build to go I’d like the options of mounting items inside/outside. I’m more comfortable with drilling aluminum then fiberglass.

Bells and whistles you say? There is now a local shop selling these. I spoke to them about shelves and solid panels. Interestingly you have to pay more for non-glass panels. By the time you get shelves and the solid panels, cost rose to SmartCap range.
