Well. I just ordered a sub 300$ 13.5k winch. I figure all the Chinese sourced stuff is about the same quality. For 300$ I thought i would give it a try If it doesn't go well I will go back to Warn.

I am a weekend wheeler and generally have someone else with me if a winch is needed. I will follow up after install and use.

When you purchase China stuff you cause the price of US made products to increase indirectly. You also hurt US businesses competing with them. If price is the only thing that matters to you, then fine. Hope the product never lets you down. But when I am overlanding 50 or more miles off the nearest paved road by myself, the last thing I want to worry about is the China junk on my front bumper. I have owned Warn winches all my long life and even though they are now built with some parts outsourced, I have never once had one let me down when I needed it. Just remember that everything you do and everything you buy comes with risks that you accept by doing so. Good luck to you.

I am from Canada and support local businesses, I have had both "Name Brand" and Amazon brand, failure rate was same on both. Unfortunately because of the TAXES up here nothing is cheap.

90 percent of my winching has been industrial however and TULSA Winches are my "Go To" hands down for reliability.

I choose the American built Off road bumper for the reviews and the looks that I wanted and i could not get it locally. If there was a Canadian supplier i would have choose them. ( Wait, from a Canadian supplier offering a more affordable US-built steel bumper. I am now perplexed.! ) Because you see Canadian brand is better than American brand no?

Bottom line on this winch stated above, its the only available supplier in Orange!

Unless I missed a supplier of course.

I guess I could have bought a 2500.00 Warn winch and had it powder coated, however that may be a project down the road.

I will be shopping at the 2025 Jeep Jamboree in Mojave if i Make it this year however. ( SHipping is free

Sorry. I grew up buy American only. The 80s and 90s changed that. Continuing to buy over priced American sourced products that are lower quality doesn't result in improved results for working men. Just fatter profits for corporations. I spent the last 25 years working on international projects. When usa is the best source it's used. When it's China I go there , or Egypt or India or Korea etc etc. I tell my kids and workers the same thing. You have to be 7x better/more productive than an Egyptian or Bulgarian. If not you lose. Warn would be my preference but their non china versions are 5x the cost. I need to see proof the cheap knock off is inferior. For my use case it might be hard as I don't use my winch for work.
Once this winch arrives and is installed I will share my feedback on it.

And follow up each year I have it. Like I said at first. If it's garbage I will replace it with a Warn.

I try to buy local or American when I can. But honestly....I had a WARN M8000 winch fail on me, and I've had various el cheapo harbor freight/ebay winches that worked the few times I needed them to. I feel like especially post covid, nothing is built like it used to be. (now I really sound old.) I'd much prefer to buy things that were quality and repair them when they break. But it seems these days it's cheaper to just buy cheap stuff and replace it when it breaks. The only winch I never had issues with was on my Kaiser (PTO driven) Good luck and post your results!

I've seen quite a few winches fail, of them guess what brand most of the time. My 8k Ramsey that's over 25 years old now still going. I gave away a old H.F 8k winch that I couldn't get to quit. A quick look around of my collection of winches currently 2 Badlands, few H.F. (pre-Badland), 6k Mile-Marker, 8k Ramsey, Havoc 10k. Only Warn winch that I would trust, the 8274 models, I've been out on trails with a Jeep club I was in years ago. The only functional winches was the Ramsey winch on my jeep and one 8274... everyone else had Warn decorations on front bumpers that cost more looked good but not working. That's something that has stuck with me. Part of it might be it was on the S.E. coastal area around Savannah GA.
I'd like to be able to buy American made and recommend it, but it needs to be a necessary cost-effective purchase. Most are made in China now, not that I like it.

The winch arrived. I likely won't have time to install till weekend after this but here is what came in the box. Actually appears better than expected. The only part that looks/feels cheap is the wireless remote.

For those cross shopping. This looks exactly like a badlands or xbull winch. Just unlabeled.

I picked the carnivore mount plate for over bumper install for a more classic look.

Winch and Bumper Arrived. Probably going to install on Sunday. If there's room I am installing the solenoid box under the hood. for a cleaner look.

Will do a separate post review on operation to compare with the Vevor

Well not happy with the above bumper install with the control box on top of the winch. It obstructs the front camera view a little. So I am moving the unit under the hood. I don't love this idea but after some time on the trail it's annoying.
