So I have a ‘22 Overland, bought new and have since had the Mopar lift installed in October of last year. About 2-3 months ago, I started to get some vibrations that weren’t really death wobble but also not within normal limits either. Took it to the dealership I bought it from, took the Service Manager for a ride who experienced the vibrations. He stated I probably needed the damper replaced and then took my truck in where they officially gave the diagnosis of a bad damper. Since this time, they have had no updates for me but I have called multiple times where they continue to give me the same answer, “it’s on back order.” I just called them three minutes before posting. Now, a friend’s father who has a 22’ Wrangler Rubicon that he bought in Virginia is going to another local dealership for the same issue and is getting it replaced on the 17th. I feel like I’m being played by Jeep and quite frankly have about had it dealing with these people. What would you do?

How old are your tires and how are they wearing? Have they been balanced lately?

It sounds like you may have a tire balance issue.

Maybe your dealer will have the part by the 17th as well? Sounds like the common parts availability issues happening these days since the pandemic. At least you are able to drive it. I have read many posts on this forum with Jeeps that are laid up at dealerships with no end in sight.

Tires are the originals and have been balanced at every oil change, which is upcoming. Wear seems to be within normal. I’m sitting at 14,2xx miles.

I have the JLURD (Mopar 2" as well), and I too had an issue. I am curious at what PSI do you run day-to-day. I ask because at my preferred PSI, I think I have licked my issue. At the PSI which the dealer put in the tires, I had wobble. They did look at the damper after I got some terrible DEATH WOBBLE. So far, I cannot create the issue at 27-29 PSI which is my normal operating pressure.

Yes, I have chalk tested my tires and I do rotate every 3-5K.

I think you can contact a different dealership parts department. Tell them you want to order the part and ask the availability. The same part should be on back order for them too. If not, go pick it up and deliver it to the dealership that has your vehicle.
I ended up ordering my own manifold gasket because I was getting the “back order” run a round from a Jeep dealership a few months ago. Once I had the part and told them I would deliver it, they suddenly were able to get it done the next day. Weird isn’t? They suddenly had the part once I told them I had one and would bring it to them.
I’m sure it was just coincidence?

You had them balanced at every oil change, or do you mean rotated?

It sounds like a tire issue based on how you described it. A front to rear rotate is usually a pretty easy way to determine this.

The stock stabilizer is crap. Replace it with a Falcon Nexus adjustable or a Fox.
That said, the vibration or slight wobble isn't normal and even with no stabilizer installed, it shouldn't be doing that.

So check your ball joints, your pitman arm nut, steering gearbox bolts, trackbar bolts, drag link, and tie rod ends for proper torques. Check the control arm bolts.

I'm guessing the Mopar lift included the longer control arms to correct caster?
Did they do an alignment after the lift kit was installed, or since?

Free and easy to try is a slight toe out. Yes, out.

I have a stock stabilizer with about 2000 miles on it sitting in my garage in the way. If you want to pay shipping I can send it to you.
But trust me, you're way better off buying an aftermarket better one.

100% going to do that. I really wanted to have the warranty cover it since that’s not money coming out of my pocket but worse comes to worse, I’ll buy and install the Fox one sooner than later.

The JT damper is indeed on back order. The JL one was also on back order until about a week ago. What more info do you want them to give you? All FCA gives us is “Back Order, No ETA” whouod you rather the dealer lie then tell you the truth?

Just want to add while basically everything you said is true, ive taken the damper off of multiple shaking/shimmy JL/JTs, taking the damper off stopped the issue. So sometimes the Damper IS the issue, and issues alone

So pulling into work this morning I seemed to have more wobble than usual coming from the passenger front. I noticed this piece of jagged metal beside the sway bar link. What in the hell is this?
