Vintage Warren Miller lived out of a trailer in ski area parking lots. He graduated to a posh private ski area with an area named after him I think.

Are there any Gladiator ski bums out there? Do you vintage like Warren with a travel trailer or do you have a bed tent set up?

Where does one even park themselves with such setups? I presume ski resorts aren't keen on overnighters in their parking lots. Local walmarts used to allow rv'ers park in their lots, but I don't even think this is allowed anymore. Such stores are hard to find in northern vermont and other northeast locales (not this is a bad thing).

Glenn Plank FTW!
Man that's a throw back. I'm off to watch Maltese Flamingo.

Haven't heard about anything Jeep specific but ran across this a bit ago. Such a great setup...

That is a sick setup. I wish we had hills bigger than 700 ft around here. I usually take 3 week weeks vacation every winter to ski. A week in january, another 7-10 days in February spread out and a week in March. Those get me out enough and allow me to avoid weekend lines so I can get some solid laps in. January has been terrible here the last couple years so my plan might get changed next year as our weather changes.

Japan is on my list of places to ski so the world better figure out covid so I can get on a plane again before I am too old to hit some insane powder.

The trailer in that video is what I dream about when I am at the holiday inn express (or similar). The notable absence of toilet facilities would be a bummer. The design and execution of my trailer build would be akin to Homer Simpson constructing 'le gril', what the heck is that?

An incredibly well-thought out trailer in the video, though. One of the comments on the video noted that the black-out material probably isn't as stealth as the ski-bum guy thinks it is. Passerby's probably aren't duped by the material while noting a chimney and smoke.

Recently banked on an "Epic" winter next year with the Epic Pass deposit. Thoughts of ski bumming with a Gladiator, but I will get the free breakfast instead. Japan is a good ski bucket list and also one of mine.

Thanks for the fun replies.

I think the conversion Vans took up that market. The gladiator is a little too small to live, parking lot to parking lot in. That said it's a lot more fun driving to the resorts in a Gladiator. And towing loses some of the fun of driving a gladiator.

I'm resurecting this thread. I'm curious if anyone is sleeping in their Gladiator overnight when they go skiing?

I used to sleep over in the back of my old hatchback Saab 900 when I was in college. (No I wasn't rich, I worked at a Saab dealer and bought a trade in with a "blown" engine that only needed a head gasket, ha)

Its amazing how efficiently space was used in that car. As a point of reference, the wheelbase was 99 inches.

I sell van parts
Vans are Much better suited to this than a truck with a tiny bed like the gladiator

Hard to do both at the same time. Otherwise best bet is sleeping in the seat.
