The dealer can turn off the ESS. Mine was smart enough to disable from the get-go on mine... I live in a rather blue-collar, no b.s. part of the country where selling trucks with that nonsense is a non-starter (pun intended). So they just disable them. I do get a little "bing" warning on the dash every time I start, but that's it.

Sounds like they disconnected/removed the push pin switch under the hood? Correct?

That makes sense then. I was hoping to get the standard cloth without the red. For whatever reason they changed the dash when you get tan leather

With the tan seats in a Rubicon, the whole interior red stitching also goes away. I can see why they included the red dash being removed as the accent alone of the red panels without the rest of the interior red stitching not being there is a little off.

You can get the Rubicon without the Red Dash.... Only the JL's only come with the Red Dash...

It's because you ordered the tan seats. If you order any Rubicon with black leather or cloth seats, you get the red dash. Any Rubicon with the tan seats gets the gray dash. Only exception to this is the LE with the black leather dash, and a factory installation error which has supposedly happened (one user on this forum got a blue Rubicon with black seats and gray dash) .
