Thinking about the skyjacker 2.5in lift with the black max shocks. Any one know how these shocks ride on the road?

I don’t know, but skyjacker doesn’t have a great quality record lately. Lots of early rusting.

Not sure how they ride, not a ton of people running skyjackers. Some Rubicon fox shocks and lowering tire pressure will help soften the ride

Good call on tire pressure. What specific tires are you running? Many times the manufacturer calls for much lower pressure than you’d expect with larger tires.

Personally I prefer a firmer ride, I always felt like soft suspension meant worn out suspension. The Falcon shocks I run are firmer than the Fox shocks by a long shot, and I run 36psi in the tires because I drive 76 miles round trip to work every day. So I’m more about getting the most out of what I have vs a softer ride.

But definitely to the OP tires play a big role in comfort. He didn’t give us much info to go off of either. Hopefully he has a gladiator ?

I'll second the lower pressure for smoother ride comments. Also, it's 100% reversible, easy, and free. Can't get better than that. Personally, I wouldn't be doing a lift for smoother ride. It would be for larger tire clearance and to reduce possible body damage in the rocks.

I’ve got 33x12.5x15 km2s roughly 35-38psi.

What kind of vehicle is this on? The gladiator can’t accept 15ā€ wheels

Once upon a time I had some Skyjacker springs and shocks that I was planning to install on my JT. However the springs had some coating defects from factory, exposing bare steel. Didn’t sit with me right so I returned the lift kit. The black max shocks were also also way to easy to collapse with my hands.

Synergy springs ride fantastic. Nice highway and street ride and manners, dual-rate for loads, and lower rate for good rides unloaded.
Very happy with my Synergy front springs.
I'm almost of the sort that if I was doing a lift 2" or more, I'd pick and choose my parts to get the better of each other than a "kit". Turnkey isn't always best - sometimes someone else makes one of those parts better than what's in the "kit".

I don't think any lifts will give a ā€œbetterā€ ride. Really not their purpose. Of the JT models I'd say the Rubicon has the softest ride of them all. Maybe try some Rubicon takeoff springs. Your ride height will be a little taller with those springs too.
