Funny, isn’t it just the Evo line that is made in China? I was actually thinking of going with an evo to save some bucks but maybe its worth ponying up a bit extra for the real deal.

I am very surprised the remote has a battery assembly that is essentially what you find on a toy, for a device that is made to use in harsh conditions. I contacted Warn and got the following, good news it will be rectified:

“While specific instructions / recall registration will be posted to www.warn.com in the next couple of weeks. Until then we advise you remove the batteries from your remote and only use it in corded mode. At some point in time, a new corded remote option will be provided along with a $100.00 coupon for any Warn product to compensate for the lost wireless function.

Thank you

I thought I read somewhere on here recently that all of them are designed here but assembled in other countries. I could be wrong though

I have an Evo 12S and it has functioned wonderfully. I would buy it again.
My remote stopped working when corded but worked fine cordless. I contacted Warn and their customer service was EXCELLENT. They shipped me out a new remote, cord etc.right away. Yes, I had to install it but that is fine with me.
