I have a 2021 Sport. I have upgraded from a 5" radio to the 8.4" uconnect. I have also upgraded and added the sun sensor, temp sensor and auto climate controls. I have now been receiving this message on the radio screen. Was wondering if anyone knows whats going on or how to fix this? I did receive the message prior to the climate control upgrade. Is this an issue on the radio .

That is a new one. I can only go off my experience working aircraft avionics design and when presented with a memory remaining in the negative, that usually means some other device has exceeded it's memory allocation assigned usage but is high enough priority that the OS will temporarily take RAM resources from other systems that have it to spare.

It probably only a radio head unit issue but I could not say for certain. That would need to be like a vendor bench level diagnostic to figure out.

This is the second 8.4" radio that I installed, the first would not pick up satellites so I returned to LKQ, great return policy. I had the replacement within two days. It works perfect other then that message. Hate to have to reurn this one. The vehicle it came out of only had 15k miles and the unit looks perfect.
How would one do a hard reset on the gladiator. One would think to remove the battery cables and then touch the ends after 10 minutes BUT with the other battery do you have to disconnect that one also?
I did notice earlier a message quickly popped up about vehicle start and vehicle stop messages were in the logs. It went to fast for me to get a picture.

My understanding is - you can pull the radio fuse, or disconnect batteries - and yeah, you have to do both batteries because the aux battery feeds the electronics.
You can disconnect it by pulling the ground cables off the top of the IBS on the main battery, then separate the two ground cables.
One goes to the aux battery, the other goes to body ground.

When you did the original upgrade, did you have a dealership flash the computer or use an aftermarket scanning tool have the system recognize the modification?

I used jscan, but that was just for the autoclimate. The radio was just plug and play and the messages were there prior to any of the other mods

Yup - normally JSCAN or AlfaOBD are all you need.
Dealers won't mess with this sort of mod anyway. They don't go in and change such settings and seems they won't even add most sales codes these days. FCA cracking down, I guess.

Did the radio part number you receive come out of a JT and not a JL? There is some slight differences and part numbers are unique to each model.

Do you think this is something to do with the ECM or BCM.

How often are you getting the message?

Try a system reboot (disconnect both batteries for about 15 minutes). Don't touch the ends of the cables together, or let them touch anything metal, this can blow your high amp fuse assembly (about $175 to replace).

If it continues, disconnect the two new sensors, one at a time, and see if it goes away.

Not sure where the touch cable ends together comes from or started. Some belief, I suppose, about bleeding down caps or something. Disconnecting for a few minutes does it.
Agree with the undo mods in sequence to see if it disappears. Anything more is pure throwing things at the wall to see what sticks unless a real systems tech knows. This is way outside of ordinary mods. Bet even Jeep techs working years in a shop would have to contact STAR about this one

Coming from a IT/Security/Networking back ground, does anyone know if the radios have a diagnostic function that can trigger logs to be saved for troubleshooting purposes? Based on my experience that is how this reads. And the logs have been running long enough that they have used up what memory they are allocated.

Maybe - and I mean maybe, not for sure, but could this be that sort of message?
Look at where it's stored - Radio

If that's a similar thing, then he's got some errors stacking up and filling the logs.

Yeah, I came from government IT/security, and the logs stored in domain servers, routers, ASAs, firewalls, whatever, could grow huge. We had a couple of crashes years ago from SQL error logs filling up VM disk space (the ding-dongs that set it up were tracking unnecessary things and didn't allow for log growth.)
