So the other night in the -20 degrees during snowstorm a trophy mom in her SUV pulled out in front of me. Took evasive action, layed on the horn and BEeee…. Yes, the craptacular OEM quality plastic horns, froze, choked and shattered.
Was going to replace them with a higher quality replacement like PIAA or Hella, then watched a couple of install videos showing total removal of the grill and I really don’t want to be playing with plastic Christmas tree fasteners in the cold. So at 34.5k and barely under warranty dropped it off at the dealership this morning for warranty repair.
5-7 week wait on parts and $396 cost if not under warranty. Yes, I know they’ll replace them with the same craptacular plastic units, but at least it doesn’t cost me anything this time.
so the question is what to replace them with next time? PIAA? Hella? Train horn? Dixie ala the General Lee and Dukes of Hazzard?
