Did they give you a final diagnosis for the need for long block replacement? Did they find metal in the oil control valve?
I went through a similar thing last summer into fall. I have a 2024 Rubicon X purchased new in January of 2025. Ticking probably started at 500 miles. I didn't take it in until it had 8000 miles. On my vehicle a cam on each side has been replaced, 3 banks of rockers and lifters, cam phasers x 3, timing chains and timing chain guides. It had been in the shop for close to 80 days.
I pleaded with the service advisor to give me a new long block, but they said as long as metal was not in the oil control valve it would not be authorized by Jeep. I have now checked the oil filter and 3000 miles after the final repair and there is tons of metal still in the oil filter. Some will say the oil filter catches all of the metal, I am not convinced. I am taking it back to the dealer again to have this evaluated and at least get the oil changed. There is currently no tick. They said previously they did a flush.
I think the bean counters at Jeep cheaped out on their suppliers and as far as parts go, they got what they paid for.
