California also does not have the means to follow California dreams either. They are broke and getting worse!

Pipe dreams, supported by poor policy, create terrible outcomes.

California logic here, dumbest nanny state laws around. I just hope that when people leave there they don't take their politics with them. This is sadly happening to the Carolina's with New Englanders...

I really wish California would just become its own country...
The State of Jefferson (northern California) that feels they are underrepresented would definitely like to become independent of the more populated southern California influences and especially the high taxation.

That is the most amazing thing to me.

These boobs live in a place and while there they vote for these foolish policies, AND while they are there (and over time) they watch the place go to crap ...

There is no better way to learn but by doing and living through something to the point that you can see results ...

And once it gets so bad, they themselves are forced to move, they then move somewhere else that has reasonable responsible policies and is flourishing as a result (which is why they moved there) and then they begin the process of voting in the same awful policies that ruined the last place that they lived ...

I grew up in the south suburbs of Chicago in the 70's and it was a great place to grow up honestly ... My family had come there for work 2 generations before me. Now, there are a lot of us (5 or six full families).

The last hold out (my 78 year old dad and mom) moved out last week for the greener pastures of Tennessee. My wife and I and kids left 5 years ago for Indiana ... All on all, about 50 people gone (just our family and extended family) which represent a heck of a lot of tax revenue given their rates which we was one of the reasons we left ... There were a lot of reasons ...

The area in Indiana and Tennessee that we all moved to are closer to the reasonable places we all grew up in ...

What scares me is that I already see the beginning signs of the rot I witnessed growing up in Illinois ...

It will take 40 more years until my reasonable children come to the conclusion that they must pack up for another place as this place will be "used up" by "California's dreams" as it was put early in this thread ...

It seems to be that reasonable productive people build, others see it, like it and move there only to tear it down through years of "improving things" ... And the process continues ...

I'm with you we cant afford it ...

Now since this is a Jeep forum let me apologize for the rant but you struck a chord ... And to keep this more Jeepish, Ill just say that Ill drive my Jeep until there are no more fossil fuels to be had ...
