For anyone unsure about the B58 ZF 8 combination. I have had 2 BMW X4M40i’s with that drivetrain. I have had zero issues. That is pretty much the bmw Go To drivetrain. I also have a G87 M2 with the S58 making well over 475 HP and no problems. I think the drivetrain is the least of my worries with the Grenadier.

Agreed, this is an awesome drivetrain. Had one and loved it.

I Always wanted a defender but couldn’t justify getting a 20 year old truck that was $80k or more once imported to canada. And than dealing with any issue it may have at 20 years old. The grenadier was a close as I could get to a new defender that’s “not a defender” I like the big box of a truck, and its utilitarian underpinnings. Time will tell if I made a $100k mistake.

This is my issue with the Defender... bringing them into Canada is just outrageous. Any of the Defenders you see within Canada for sale are also outrageous, or require a ground up rebuild.

they do, Ineos Grenadier Quartermaster

I have been following the Ineos journey for a few years now. Having done quite a few little trips through the online configurator I was getting pumped finally seeing them for sale in my area recently.

Unfortunately, my lease was up on my 2020 JT Sport S the end of last year and I decided to get into a 23 JTRD before the end of the diesels, since (as far as the last time I checked on the website) the Ineos Quartermaster wasn’t being built for sale here in the States yet, not to mention the inflated price.

If you feel so inclined, I wouldn’t mind if you kept us informed over the next few weeks or months on how your experience with the Grenadier goes?

Just priced a Grenadier on their site with the options I care about. $81,500 Expensive but nice.

That B58 is a real gem in those. We’ve got 3 B58’s in the family and all have been more than reliable.
The truck version or a cruiser is probably the only two cars on the market I’d trade the gladiator in for. Congrats!

Now imagine if it had a 0-60 faster than a gladiator or a wrangler! People can say what they want about not needing 0-60 times, and sure it's an arbitrary number but I want something with plenty of power on the street and off-road once it's actually loaded down and on 37-39inch tires. It's it's already underpowered on 32s I'd hate to see it on anything bigger.

Until I can get an ineos or a gladiator with V8 power (or equivalent like in a 4xe or turbo 6 or even 4) I'm just not tempted to go anywhere.

Well Everyone,

I wanted to thank this forum for the helpful tips and tricks ive learned along the way. It made working on the Gladiator a lot of fun.
Sadly I'm saying goodbye to the Gladiator next week. Purchased new in 2021 I've put 100 000 KM on it, only warranty repair were a driveshaft hangar bearing, and the tailgate stop light. It's been a remarkable truck. But It's just not My Dad's Gladiator. And it is time to say goodbye.

Next Week I'll be picking up my New Ineos Grenadier. How good it is remains to be discovered, the price of early adoption!

But the Gladiator has been a blast.
