Holy crap!! I was looking at a High Tide Wrangler, inquired via internet and phone with a salesman. Told him where my credit was at (Very Good credit) Didn't let him shop around to banks so i didn't give him my Social. Not sure what the term was he had in mind but he said $0 down would be $1144/Month payment!!!! No Thanks!
What was the term of the loan, 60 months?

Mine is $12xx, I round it up to $1300 and that's for 36 months........almost 12 months down

I was talking to our friend that owns 2 local dealerships. I was thinking of trading for a Grand Cherokee L. Numbers were good til they started looking at rates. would have jumped the payment over $120 a month compared to my 2.25% lol

Yeah it's almost coming to point of buying a new car/truck is a game for the rich now.

Grew up with my dad buying $500 shit boxes and making them last a couple years.

Thankfully I took lessons learned growing up and make better financial moves...... retired the first time at 39 .......contracting now to get my real estate thing going. 10 more years and done forever at 53

Love you too…lol!!

I worked on them for 20 years. I feel like I finally retired.
If you get the itch, I've heard that 3.0 in the Silverado is nice. Best of luck with the new ride.

Nope. Belt driven fuel pump at the back of the engine. Cab off 100k mile service…

With the turbo at the rear of the engine it’s buried under the cowl. GM recommends replacing the drive belt every 100k miles. Only one way to get to it…

LOL, an oil change is how i always end up with a new Jeep! My wife gets nervous every time I go in for an oil change!
The running joke is I sell or trade every other oil change. This Rubicon is sweet. I might keep It to five oil changes…lol.

A man after my own heart, only thing I have kept beyond 5 years was my FJ cruiser and I have had some pretty awesome rides. The shortest was the Acura at less than a year, but it was during COVID and they paid me more than I paid for it and got my wife a JL instead.

My credit union had a promotion a few months ago where everyone with a credit score of 680 or higher qualified for 5.25%. Which was their tier 1 rate.

A High Tide will be @55k. Add $4k for tax and tags and you’re at $59k. That’s $980 for 60 at 0%. If you did the math you should have known about what the payment was. What were you expecting on $60k?

Interest rates are high now on everything unless you can get some kind of buy down or deal when you buy the vehicular. Dodge at 1 point was offering a 0.9% on RAM 1500 as an incentive.

rates are high…not really the dealers fault. It’s the way the world is for the moment

So... Was able to snag a 2.9% for 60 months at a Ford dealer. This went home with us today. Fully loaded Heritage Limited.

Back story: I only have vehicles with clutches and planned on getting a JTM in fall of last year. But I decided to hold off due to the dealer I was working with tried to pull a fast one and sitting tight until prices stabilized/came down.

I then torqued my knee and will have it cleaned out in a few weeks. Need something with an auto for a couple months. At the same time, her CrossTrek is approaching 200K miles and will eventually go 10-7 on us... and it's our road trip vehicle.

Biggest gripe so far: I just bought a brand new car in 2023 and it doesn't have wireless CarPlay.
