and I have one in my suburban and Mini Countryman its virtual a compact train horn. I it bought at Harbor Freight with coupon

So what had been holding up this mod is I didn't want to cut up the jeeps harness and it seemed no one sold a JT /LJ horn harness

After some research I finally figured out jeep and ford share the same horn plugs, armed with that I was able to search for connectors, while scouring the Jungle site I found that Farbin sold pig tail adapters, I could just unhook a horn and it plug in

That would have been fine, I could have snipped the ends made an extension and had my loud horn ......
However, when i added to cart i noticed Farbin had other options on the same page. I found it! a y splice for the horns now jeep horn and the loud "train horn"

So Today was the day first I had to find what wire was the positive and negative ...easy
- pulled out the grill plastic rivets and laid back the grill, winch is on so taking it off would be dumb also I could have left the grill unhooked with a pick and long screwdriver but then could not get pics of the connections for that forum write up
-unhooked both (don't want to piss off the neighbors) and plugged the adapter in
-used a test light to figure out positive and used a paint marker to mark it

now for the harness

the only question was where to put the Bad Boy well that fell right into place and fit so well all I had to do was a quick zip tie an put the plastic rivets and grill was back in .... Now off to the mall to scare Old lades and soccer Moms!!!

Trying to get the driver side motor mount out. It failed. Anyone do this yet? All bolts and nuts are out. That wasn’t bad with the fender off. But haven’t been able to lift the engine high enough to clear the post.

Dude, this jeep looks so clean it looks either fake, AI generated, or a remote control car. LOL. Kudos!
He talked about it once in another thread. He uses a special filter in Photoshop that gives it that almost RC toy like appearance.

I wish. I tried on the new one. No bueno. I think it’s just got that 8mm male so you can stop it from rotating the flexible mount when you tighten the nut.

I would say cut it off but then you are in the predicament of getting the new one in.

Agreed. If I can’t get the old one out undamaged, I’m screwed anyway. So it stays until I figure it out.

I’m wondering if anyone has even done this. I couldn’t believe I couldn’t find an internet mechanic that had done it on YouTube.

This instruction set mentions also taking out the transmission cross member nuts before jacking the engine up.

Instruction set?! Amazing. I did remove those nuts after it didn’t lift far enough. But glad I didn’t do that for nothing.

Last step looks like the catch all and you may have to remove the engine block side mount.

https://shiftautoandoffroad.com/products/shift-reinforcement-bridge

Mine are the “v3” version, I think that’s the only one they are shipping now.

To be clear, the brace isn’t “ready” for the bump stops: you have to cut a hole through main face plate and notch the trusses a bit, but my shop (not installed at Shift) said it was super easy.

My thought was if I’m gonna have to cut the frame, might as well reinforce it.
