I would never use K&N myself but I had heard that they didn’t get the very fine particles you encounter off roading. Then those fine particles just sand down your rings.
Read about this when a guy noticed his intake hose from the air cleaner was coated with dirt inside.
I spent too much money on my truck to destroy an engine voluntarily.

Edit - But I have no personal experience with them.
Used them on all my rigs for that last 20+ years, I live in the desert, not a single engine failure, but I keep them clean.

Old outdoor carpets loosely laid in the garage. I’m a weirdo. What can I say. Same system as the shocks. Same controls. I can’t wait to test them out tomorrow.

I’ve since been to weathertech in Denver to recycle some mats from former cars. I found out they have garage flooring, and I’m seriously considering it. $2 per sq foot isn’t bad.

Funny as I "thought" about putting my new Sunrider on that's been sitting in the basement for months. I've attached the rails and cable. Just need to put it on. Now you made me feel bad that I was too lazy to do it. I did manage to get out for a short Harley ride since it was nice out. Does that count?
Definitely yes. I haven't been on a bike in over thirty years, but when it gets warm enough to ride, then that always beats wrenching.

Well fuck me......I'm going to have to pull my winch to get these grills swapped

Let us know what you come up with.
I dropped off my '24 grill trim pieces at the painters on Friday. Should get them back Wednesday. I don't have a winch so don't anticipate any fitting problems due to that.

I found a front (drivers side) axle seal leak, so I topped off diff oil. Time to order repair stuff, and I'll probably put on new hub since it will already be off. Thinking Timken

Have a few additions to the JT.

Hard tonneau cover - EBay find for under $300. It fits great!
https://www.ebay.com/itm/205237665050

New mini antenna. Very much NOT recommended. Signal went down BIGTIME with this one. Stay far, far away.

If anyone has suggestions on aftermarket antenna that isn't 3 feet long and flimsy(IE not the Mopar installed one) I am all ears.

I like that antenna better than mine. Too bad the reception isn’t great.

I rarely listed to the radio lately. Mostly have the phone connected and listen to Pandora or ITunes. But, it is beyond horrible. I'm honestly going to go back to the original antenna and just remove it before I take it for a wash each time. It's a PITA, but would rather have the ability to listen to the radio if I wanted.

I have an alternative suggestion if you want mine is larger than most stubbies, but works flawlessly and doesn’t get in the way off road.

Took me forever to find this picture. I’ve had it since 2021 and it was a cheap AutoZone purchase. It’s been flawless. I’d call it a short mid.

I think people like to swap Bronco antennas on theirs. Keeps reception good and isnt a mile long. I have a 50 cal antenna tho.

I know you want shorter, but I wrapped the stock antenna in 2 layers of 1/4” shrink tubing and a 3rd layer of 3/8” shrink tubing and it looks significantly better. The plus is no impact to reception. I left the outer layer a bit long so it adds padding to the ball at the top.

Just installed ExoShield windshield film. A bit of a hassle but overall not too rough.
