The JK 3.6l has a metal intake? Even my 2008 JKU (3.8l/6 speed Rubicon) had a plastic intake.
JK's have a plastic lower intake, this is an aluminum replacement that can work on a JT but the ports are partially blocking air flow hence the porting.

I have a "gut feeling" about it based on my experiences with performance V8s.

The appeal for me of certain aftermarket parts would be getting rid of plastic stuff.
That is the only gain I know of other than I opened the port 1/6" for a little more flow. I can't wait to install and find out. unfortunately, I have to save for this project.

I am not up on that aspect. I just know it is a thing to replace the plastic lower intake with it since those are starting to age and become more of a problem.

Larger runners for more HP and high end, smaller runners for low-end torque.

But I suspect Hootbro is expecting me to instead bring in a $9,000 cross-ram intake for AMC as demonstration of achieving longer runners........

Anyway yes, for the "ram" effect - physics. Matter in motion and all.

Yeah, thought about that also. Really did not want to go down the path of a new bumper but may have to look at that. Had a top mount Go Rhino bumper on my previous Gladiator but that sit a couple inches lower than what I have now.

Girth matters too.

Good example would the old Mopar 413 with the cross ram and 2, 4 bbl's. The street motor had the long runners. If you ordered the race motor. It came with the short runner manifold. My dad had a 1964 Plymouth Belvedere with the long runner 413. I still remember that car. He just about died in that car. Some guy hit him head on.

I actually got this idea from an JK forum, they were swapping to a JL lower intake because the port was Non obstructive and I thought Hmmm I have this metal one from a JK, and so it began.

I picked my son up from after school and he was in love with it lol. Def will give me more opportunities to open up the front without worrying about where to put the freedom panels

Completely agree. I pop mine open every afternoon after work for the ride home. Doesn't get any easier to enjoy some fresh air.
