I think the RSE will prevent a need for mud flaps but not stuff flying off the sides of the tires.
They don’t stop a whole lot of that debris. I tested mine and they still let a lot of mud coat the rear fenders. I keep it slow on trails as I don’t want chipped paint. I added the fender extensions but haven’t tested them as of yet.
I specifically bought the Mojave to go fast off road. I've had so many Jeeps that I didn't use as it was intended so I'm going to enjoy the shit out of this truck. The Mojave drives better the faster you go. I hate driving the slow technical trails. Hopefully I can limit the damage along the way. The plan is to spend more time in the sand. On a positive note, I had a decent sized rock hit my windshield. It was so loud that I jumped out of my seat. Not a crack or even a single chip out of my windshield.

Yesterday, after 13 straight weekends of of rain, the orange sky fire god peeked out! So we washed the Gladiator. (by we, I meant me, my kids had a water fight)
Meanwhile, My parents came over in his '21 JLU Sahara so that got washed as well.

Now clean and dry, It was time to retire the full doors for the summer on the the Off Road concepts door hangers I mounted in the basement. Finally I got my half doors on

This morning, I had to to take that oversized key Fob out of my pocket and unlock my door (full doors have proximity locks so.. yeah First world Problems!) When I get out of work today, I plan to install the Ebay add on proximity harness and a set of handles to the half doors ... only been sitting on my tool box for 3 months lol

Some friends and I rescued one of those once.

You can call that a rescue…... He’s certainly earned his “ain’t skeered” and “Play Hard” badge.

On a new vehicle…..OUCH!!! That’ll be expensive …..

I’m actually surprised there aren’t more flops and rollovers involving independent suspension Fords and Toyotas. I see their vertical wheel travel at about 8” and them tipping a lot. I guess they meet the needs of the average person though? Not that I’m a radical rock crawler.
It’s not about suspension travel….. It’s all about knowing your center of gravity.
And as mentioned, the line you take and how you turn those wheels.

I’d tend to believe that uptravel is more critical in a roll situation because all the weight and the body weight follows (no body roll or flex). IFS rigs don’t have much travel to begin with and even less up travel.

Back in my older days… IFS rigs could only lift 2-3” on the stock setup (via coils or spacers). Once you reached 4+” of lift…the lifts (off the shelf lift kits) got more complicated, more expensive, more brackery & setup, etc. Even after adding all that extra bracketry…(to your stock A-arms, etc), the suspension travel wasn’t any better. The only benefit was being able to fit bigger tires.

I’m not trying to bash this plan, but Why? would you install proximity on your half doors?

Finally get warm enough here to pull the doors. Was going to pull the top but am kinda enjoying the flip up portion.

No way. I’ll buy the occasional low quality bench tool from them, but I’d rather have decent quality hand tools.
I'm not a full time mechanic. Im just a simple hobbyist with 30yrs of experience wrenching/modifying/maintaining all of my vehicles that I have ever owned. I've never had an issue with off-brand tools. I have had Craftsmen (from 30yrs ago) ratchets and a trolley jack break on me shortly after buying them. I've had 2nd hand SnapOn sockets and universals break. So far, I haven't had any Pittsburgh stuff break, not to say that it won't though.
I'd rather spend my money on parts versus high end brand name tools like SnapOn or MatCo

I’ve had my steps for quite a while and completely agree. Mud flaps aren’t really necessary with them.

Totally fair. I have my share of off brand stuff from when we had boats. No reason to have nice tools in that environment. It’ll just kill them.

We got him upright and he drove it out. Lots of white smoke, but not unexpected. The pictures don’t show the incline he was on. Or the 90 year old mother. We had to get one Jeep above him to prevent him from going down the slope during or after pulling him back upright.

More pictures of the recovery. Unless you've been to Poughkeepsie Gulch, it's hard to get a feel for the incline. We were the last ones in the area for the day 230p-3pm, he had professional recovery help coming, but hours away, so he was lucky we were there to assist with some daylight left. @WILDHOBO was the rear anchor, and @darksidedesign on the front. The bronco owner had his winch set to my tow strap used as a tree strap anchor 30' up the hill to pull him upright, while everyone else kept things tight with their winches. Without the rear anchor, he would have rolled forward without control.
