A little 😂,... Lol
I should have trimmed it right next to the cross member it’s attached to. I was very tired and just wanted it back together. So sawzall and a sander to smooth the edges. Not worried about rust as I’ll cut it out completely when I have time.

Get you a small air die grinder cutter . From Lowes or Home Depot. Wear safety glasses but it will slice that stuff very easy IMHO .
I'm like you I have no stinking clue what that it for. Maybe driveshaft catcher ??
But your probably right probably has to do with the pumpkin 🎃 🤔 🤷

It’s to prevent the pumpkin from hitting the bed, probably only on stock suspension. It would never happen with good bump stops.

At 6.5” in the rear, I think I only have 3” of puck back there. No bottom out issues with a flex test. I’m sure you’re fine. If you have a bent rear track bar and have relocated your track bar up for a more level bar, check the “diff catcher” above it. I don’t know what else to call that stupid thing. It was the only thing that would have hit on mine. I may have “trimmed” it a little. :)

I looked when I was on the trailer flexed out. I was sitting on the bump stop. Could be bc i have less lift(2.5") that I am closer than you with your 6.5"?

For sure. I’ve drastically changed my front bump stops as the lift increased. But the rear is still sumo springs and 3” of puck approximately. It does help that I’m still on 37’s, so lots of wheel well space.

Man oh man that would have to be a whale of a hole to bottom one that bad on any suspension 😂

I like the idea of more space as opposed to trying to fill all the void with 40's or larger .

If 40’s wouldn’t make it impossible to tow with, with a 3.6. But they would make it into a dedicated trail rig.

Yeah just like W.T.F.D.I.G.M.I.T's rig plus you would have to Bob the bed and blah blah blah

Too far for me.
Come on now, you know you want to. 🤣

In all seriousness, as much as it's a trail rig on 42's. I drove it through downtown Nashville the other day to meet another forum member and sell some LCA skids from my old axle. I may just have the little 3.6 that could, but regeared to 5.38's and I see 8th gear at 80 on the highway.

She does amazing on the highway, on the trail, and in the city and boy does she turn the heads...
