Exactly my point. I am on a fixed income so I have to take the road less expensive!$330
That and I love making things work.

Hope the surgery went well!!Note for the folks with the Badland Apex winch - you will need to do some trimming to get these to fit.
My winch apparently isn't centered as I had to only file some on the left side piece (driver side) but had to do more cutting into the end of the right side (passenger side/US) piece.
I made them fit with the winch, put tape on the bumper parts that need to be drilled (thick lay to help hold the bit from wandering) and used a small bit to get a pilot hole, then opened it up with about 1/4" bit, pulled the tape, painted the raw edge of the hole front and back, and then put the filler pieces in place.
(Thanks, Benny - they work fine)
I didn't want to mess with bolts and screws so did the same thing Jeep does to hold half of the JT together - you'll recognize those "Christmas tree" retainers going into the bumper steel.

Really had to trim this one to clear. But too hard to move the winch over, would have to pull some things apart to get to the bolts and - with needing to drive tomorrow for Friday 5:30AM check-in at the hospital for surgery, I didn't want to mess with it. Few will ever notice - especially with those cables in the way!

there are so many live options that no other device allows not to mention the ability to check DTC's via steering controlsYeah, but at what cost?
Why that location and not use the OEM one?Installed a new XM antenna using the Maximus-3 mount
Depending on roof rack stuff, the Oem location creates interference with XM. Mine works for crap right now, and I’ve had another one laying around for ages. I just never seem to get to it.Why that location and not use the OEM one?
That makes sense.Depending on roof rack stuff, the Oem location creates interference with XM. Mine works for crap right now, and I’ve had another one laying around for ages. I just never seem to get to it.
I’ve put that project on the back burner, as I want to move my starlink further back. If I do that, the problem will go away. That makes sense.![]()
That's assuming you can't live without those "live functions" and so far, I haven't found any I need, want, or can't live without.there are so many live options that no other device allows not to mention the ability to check DTC's via steering controls
Wildhobo is correct, the factory location is interrupted by my roof rack. Why that location and not use the OEM one?
JSCAN does everything I need for a fraction of that, creates logs.$330
A week after kidney surgery. I was ripping stuff off the Power Wagon before I traded it in for the JT.BTW - to whom it may concern..............
a long heavy box marked "electric sway bar" arrived Thursday before we took off for the hospital for my surgery on Friday. I put it in the garage but won't be able to do a thing with it until at least sometime in November now due to weight restrictions, bending, leaning and so on.
Can't wait to get started on the front sway bar disconnect system........... so that will be a future "what did you do to" thing.
Just need to decide which of three options I want to use to make it disconnect. I think the manual method will be a last resort. There are three ways to do it electrically.
Thanks to the people involved.

I live in a state were you can not touch a phone or tablet while you drive ... so unless they make the jscan app work on the factory screen I can't us it while drivingJSCAN does everything I need for a fraction of that, creates logs.
And I can use AlfaOBD with the same adapter and bypass cable, making for even BETTER logging and record keeping.
So for about 1/3 of that, I can do everything needed, and some nifty things like display misfires on a screen as I drive, show me a set of off-road pages that does what jeep's does - with more (including increasing idle speed for winching)
In other words, that was my point (I already knew what a tazer cost - the meaning of "but at what cost" wasn't asking for a literal price, but was saying it was a lot more expensive than other options.
