Finally was able to get my bed battery into a toolbox for cleaner/easier removal when needed, plus now i can put stuff on top of it. I used an old get 1 Rigid toolbox for the battery box which has the DC/DC charger, battery, and fuse block in it. Mounted two SB50 connectors for the vehicle and solar power inputs. I had all these in a wood box previously, but this is a needed update. Designed and 3D printed 4 feet and used a strap to secure it from moving around. I have 200 watts of solar on the cab and this all runs the 63qt ARB Classic fridge.

Thanks! Nice having that crate in there so I can throw loose stuff in it.
Do you have any kind of vent on that battery box? Understand it’s probably a Lithium but with the fuse and Dc-DC in there it’s going to get pretty hot won’t it?

Edit: Also I must have missed it: What size battery fits into that box?

The battery was given to me, its a LiFePo4 100AH. I don't know what group size it is, i think its an RV battery. larger than H6 and H7 but smaller than H8. I'm probably going to add a small 12v fan w/ some kind of controller at some point. right now its not getting warm at all in there (the BCDC reports temp along with charge via the bluetooth app). This summer will be a different story.

Some charge controllers sense battery temps.............. and some Lithium batteries have a built-in system as well- I can't say yours does, but some do.

Awesome that Dan made it out there to give you a hand, so sorry to hear about your wife though. Hope she has a quick recovery.
Thanks. Dan is an awesome guy - even my wife was impressed by the couple of moments she spoke with him while I was in the garage pulling for an AMC oil pan to give him.

Doctor says her arm is broken just below the ball on the end of the bone, the ortho nurse says no that's an old break. We wonder how they heck that's possible as having only one good arm to do anything with - she'd sure as heck known if it was broken in the past! It would be crazy pain and her arm has never been in a sling before - can't see how she'd work, drive, eat, dress when her only usable arm would be broken.

Running 8 gauge ground and hot to Anderson collector in bed for my trailer winch.
The 14 gauge white and orange will power the backup lights (Oracle) via an aux switch (white wire) and the orange will power 12v outlet and USB charging ports in the side of the bed of the truck.

I'll run a wire from the winch side of the solenoid to a circuit breaker and from there it will go back to the anderson connector in the bed. So it won't be hot all the time and when it is hot, it will be on a breaker, too.

In today's age, that's a little shocking, but not necessarily so.
I'm pretty sure my 02 Dodge 2500 Cummins had dual piston front and single piston rear. Had to be smaller rotors also, since it only had 16" wheels.
The number of pistons doesn't matter, it's the force against each. PSI, pounds per square inch of pressure against xx square inches of piston surface is the amount of force against the pad.
The CoF and material of the pad matters, too.

No worries. I wasn’t just asking. I’m all in on doing solar with battery stuff. Just today I got everything hooked up and my entire house, the part that is hooked up anyway, was running off the sun. That’s a good feeling.

My wife is a ortho nurse, crazy hearing all the things they’re able to fix.

The problem here is that our doctors now send us to "Iowa Ortho" and we've both had terrible experiences there in that they tell you there's nothing wrong and they won't do this or that - used to be we'd be sent to difference doctors who actually spent more than 2 minutes with you and didn't argue with you about the problem. I refuse to go back for my thumb issues. The doctor was rude, said that the urgent care doctor was full of it and there's no way for a bone spur to ever break off - and the guy never did see full xrays of my thumb. He was in a hurry to leave the room.

Unfortunately that seems to be everywhere, she works at a pretty big hospital and there’s only a handful of doctors she’d recommend.

I can't take credit for this - one of the nicest guys I've met came all the way from CO to help with the underside wire runs on my JT tonight. So now the cables are run all the way into the engine bay where I can properly terminate them and have power to the Anderson connector back there, aux connection to back up lights and USB charging ports in the bed.
That wildhobo guy stopped by and finished up after finding out I got actually physically sick laying under a vehicle and working.
My wife met him and her first comment to me after I came back in the house "he sure seems like a really nice guy" - yeah, he is - one of the best.

My wife had a bad fall today and her arm is possibly broken but we won't know more until tuesday when an orthopedic shoulder expert can see her - due to her handicap, she can't feed herself, get a drink, brush her teeth or even get dressed - her only good arm is in a sling.
Otherwise I'd have offered a spare room for the night. I forgot to ask if he would like a quilt to take back home with him - Barbara is trying to find homes for a couple and thin out the piles.......
It was my genuine pleasure to meet you and your wife. I can’t say enough. Both of you are wonderful people and I feel privileged to have gotten to put faces to the names. I enjoyed every bit of our conversations. To see those cars in person really shows the skills you’ve acquired over years of experience. I can only hope I can learn a small percentage of it someday. The is very much for the oil pan. So generous. I’m safely home as of 30mins ago. Crashed in Omaha last night. So a doable 600 miles today.

@WILDHOBO is one of the rare ones that'll drop everything to help if it's within his abilities and proximity. I'm sorry to hear about your wife, hoping for the best.
Or one of the weird ones that wants to meet Internet people in person. Creepy. :)

Nah it’s not creepy. I met people off of Jeep forums back in the day. They became most of my off-roading group. Like minded and knew what to do on the trail. Had some awesome runs with people I met on these forum things. Once Bandit is ready to hit the trail and I have time I’d be up for it again. Gladiator Forum Jamboree!!!!!! :turkey: :like:
