I've seen all sorts of animals while in the woods in my lifetime. But every time I come across a trash panda, either in the woods or at home, I always let out an unintentional Shirley shout and arm flail. Them sumbitches are Ninja-quiet and you don't see them until they're right there. One time while camping, I was sitting by the fire sipping a beer. I glance to my right and there are 2 of 'em raiding my cooler in absolute silence. Maybe 10 feet from me. Again, I did my Shirley shout and arm flail. They jerked, but then looked at me as if saying, "Hey, whassup ?". I threw my beer can at them, they flinched then gave me a look that said, "Lemme guess, you didn't play sports in school ? You suck at throwing.". I had to stand up and do that "AAAHHHH" thing to make them leave.

With my bag of powdered donuts. That was for my coffee in the morning.

Bastids.
You can't make that shit up. That's just damn funny.

I remember wheeling with a friend. Now he's about 6' 4" and 250lb of muscle. K9 cop, military special forces. So, you get the idea that he shouldn't be afraid of anything. So, I suddenly hear a high-pitched girly scream, look forward and he's bailing out of his Jeep as it continues to roll down the trail until it hits a tree. So, I jump out and run forward. He's on the ground going "SSSSSppiiddeerrr, Spider...." as he's pointing at the Jeep. So, I walk over and put his Jeep in park, turn it off and look around, I didn't see any spider. I let him know he's safe now the spider is gone. Now we have banana spiders down here and they get pretty big. He swears the thing jumped in the Jeep landed on his steering wheel, looked at him, pointed out the door and said get out. Which he promptly did. He never lived it down.

Sad to hear this. You have a lot sunken into your rig.
Yeah, it's sad for sure.....and my bank account says so. But the doors and top off vs. reliability have clashed now.

I worked midnight shift at one fab shop. In the summer time, we left all the bay doors open so the shop could cool off at night. And the shop being right next to a river. We had all types of critters on the property. Around 1am, the "trash panda's" would walk into the shop looking for their midnight snacks. We watched them go to every trash can and raid it. Never made a mess. What was ever in the can, they ate it. After they went through every can. They would walk back out in a group around 3am. We never bother them, and they never bother us. Plus they wasn't scared of the machines that were running.

What was scary. Go out into the laydown yard and get pipe. Pick up the pipe and take it in. Lay out the pipe to be cut with a band saw. Put it on the saw and start cutting. Sometimes a groundhog would walk out of one end. Sometimes a copperhead would wiggle out. 🤯

Years ago when I had my '76 Cheby 4x4 on 38's. Was 4 wheeling with a mixed group of trucks and Jeeps. The trail followed a ridge line for a while, then made a sharp left going down hill for about 30 yards. Then you had to make a sharp right. If you didn't make the sharp right at the bottom of the hill. You hit a very large tree. The trail was wet from the rain of the night before. First truck down just missed the tree. Next was a Jeep that made it look easy. The Jeep after him wasn't lucky. It was a CJ5 with the top off. He hit the tree hard. Then we all heard him and his friend screaming and bailing out of the Jeep with his friend doing the something. Find out when he hit the tree. He knocked down one VERY large hornets nest. It landed right behind the front seats. We had to take both of them to the hospital for stings. That Jeep sat there for 2 days before we could move it.

Exactly. The one that was in my jeep just cleated at me like, “get the fuck out of here. You just woke me up. This is my house!” Then climbed the nearest tree and was definitely going to go right back to my jeep the minute I left. So I had a trapper relocate it like 100 miles away.

Retired. Finally !!
I once owned a 2017 Jeep Renegade (stop laughing, I can hear you). The dealer had a package (I forget the name), 3 oil and filter changes, 3 tire rotations, 3 27-point inspections and a vacuum and wash - $149 bucks. Sign me up. I was still working at that time and it was very easy for me to rack up 10,000 miles in 3 months. Sometimes 2.5 months. Made sense for me to keep renewing. In early 2025 the price jumped to $199, "like everything else". Still kept it.

When I retired in December 2025 I bought a used 2023 Freedom with just shy of 43,000 miles. My wife gave it to me as a retirement gift. Went back to my local dealer, renewed the package under this Jeep. Same price, $199. First thing I did was have them go over the thing with a fine tooth comb, don't glance over anything, scrutinize the thing. Took 3 freakin' hours. They gave it two thumbs up, the mechanic said the guy never rode over anything so much as put a smudge on the under-carriage. Of course I had them change the oil, I just renewed the package. He said the only drawback is the program is only good for one year. I thought nothing of it at the time.

Here it is, July, and I've only put 3,000 miles on it. In 7 months. I'm retired now, my road time is basically for fun now. I don't have to drive my normal 75-100 miles a day anymore, sometimes 1k a week (and I wouldn't do it in this thirsty puppy !!). There is NO WAY I can use up 3 oil changes a year at this rate. Oh, I can, but I'll be changing out barely used oil. Kind of annoyed me that I spent that money on a package that no longer applies to me.

For grins, I logged into Mopar and pulled up my account. My package is not for one year, it expires in Jan. 2028. Now I'm wondering if my Jeep dealer that I've been using since 2005 lied to me or I misheard them. Part of me wants to believe I misheard. I know I would have prevailed in any case, no matter what I was told, I had paperwork.

I almost took in in for service this morning. Glad I didn't.

Obviously, I gotta get behind the wheel more. Thankfully nothing like I did when I was a working fool. (apologies to any working fool that took offense)

I'm a working fool still, and I take offense. Haha. Only cause I wish I was retired.

Super easy install but took me a minute to figure out that I have to enable the trailer plug via my TAZER Mini

Also noticed that my 3rd Brake light is out 🤦‍♂️

Not today but about a month ago, just got around to posting this.

Added LED rounded rear tail lights. Super bright and the reverse lights are also very bright. I paid around $180 for the pair. Plug and play. IMHO I think they look awesome :) :) :)
