I actually noticed this today!! I haven’t driven the truck for a couple days and when I went to start it the brake was super stiff. I filed it in my head to keep my thoughts on it if it sits for a few days again. Glad to know it’s not only mine.
Happens a LOT on vehicles with power brakes if:
The check valve leaks down - is faulty or OLD
or
The vacuum booster is old or leaky.

The difference? The prior non-TIP systems didn't have a rheostat for a brake pedal switch. And you didn't even have to press the pedal to start them. The NSS was enough.
We are only now aware because our vehicles now rely on the pedal being pushed to engage the TIP system for starting.
So it's happened for decades - we are only now aware because we MUST press the pedal down to a point the system recognizes it's pressed to engage the brakes before it will engage the startup sequence.

Funny thing - my 50 year old cars can sit for weeks and still have a bit of vacuum left, while if our NEW JLU sits for even a week - the pedal is a ROCK.

I’ll have to give it a look over then. I haven’t noticed any type of malfunction. I guess it’s better than jumping in and having the brake go straight to the floor. That would be a bad day.
