After warranty is there any benefits to removing , or disabling in place? I live in Florida and we have no inspections, so leaving in place looks good. If the benefits are as high as in a diesel then it must be worth it.

Sandman, that’s a very good question. I had the very same question for a while. I finally dug deep and review the engineering reason behind adding egr to this engine Is needed.
So here a few things I learned.
The engine is designed to save as much fuel as possible and still have power. Additionally, to reduce emissions.
To accomplish this, it uses many things, and one thing is egr.
When the engine is near or at full throttle, the egr is shut off by the egr valve.
The 3.6L has very high compression for power, actually 11.3 to 1.
When the engine is running it will always have the mechanical compression of 11.3:1. But less full fuel is used at lower power requirements. Less fuel used, less emissions result. If you have the same air, let’s say with less fuel, you created an overly lean condition in the cylinders. The lean condition causes the cylinder to run extremely hot, which in turn results in preignition and detonation. It is likely damage to the engine will result if it persists.
When engines run lean (LESS than near or at full throttle), egr is allowed to enter into the cylinder and delete the combustion. The result is eliminating pre ignition.
So in a nutshell, when you need power, the throttle valve opens fully, a massive about of air enters the cylinder as well as the fuel. The air to fuel ratio is called stoichiometric. I cannot remember the exact ratio, but it’s near 15:1.( air to fuel). Stoichiometric mean basically, the perfect air to fuel ration for complete combustion.
So in this application, 3.6l pentastar, it’s very important to have egr to achieve maximum power and fuel economy. Remember also, this is on low octane fuel which can detonate at a lower temperatures than higher octane. The 3.6l is designed to run on low octane.
I am not saying I am for it or against it, just giving you the facts as I know them.😊
So…..that’s the whole enchilada I guess.
