Edit: looked up that and magnum underdrives. Cool stuff. I can’t image it would be easy to adapt to modern vehicles, but I’m no expert.

Carbon fiber multi-piece hard top for easier removal/install.
The front and rear top sections would have large glass pop-up/pop-out sunroofs with retractable shades, usable with the sunroof glass in or out. Lightweight solid panels can be used in place of the sunroof glass. Heavy duty weatherproof lockable Pelican style case for the sunroof glass/panels can be secured in the bed or on a roof rack/bed rack.
The top sections would also have recessed t-slots on the exterior with an inner brace tied to the sport bars for roof racks with high weight ratings.
