Hello all - What size hole do I drill in my rear bumper to be able to buy a mopar standard plug that fits it,

I'm installing an under bumper 2" hitch. Looks like the imprint is 2 1/4" is that the plastic plug size?

Thanks

Don't drill a hole! 4 nuts and two bolts drops the bumper. Then mount the hitch and put the bumper back on. I just did it.

Thanks for the reply - I was going to do that except the large bolt head won't fit in the void between the plastic bumper and hitch mount so I have to drill the plastic and put a plug in. I see dozens of bumper plugs but none say what size hole they fit. Anyone know?

Thanks Mike

Ah. I almost ended up buying one like that before I noticed how tall the bolt head was. I wasn't certain it wouldn't fit, but I didn't want to try it because I didn't want to drill.

Here's someone who says they found two different sizes:

Tip: make sure the carriage bolts fit through the holed easily before you drop them in the tube, I had to fight one of mine in. Destroyed the pull wire in the process.
