What was your ride before the JT?

Did you trade another vehicle in for the JT?

2003 4Runner V8 Sport. Incredibly reliable but after 18 years it was going to need a new set of shocks, tires and some undercarraige rust that was the most concerning. It was time for something new anyway and I don't like the current gen 4Runner

Glad to be back higher up. My JT is a totally different fun factor and absolutely zero buyers remorse.

Traded in a 2018 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk.

I was trying too hard to make it a really capable offroader, but the moment I added slightly larger tires and a basket on top, to carry things.. my MPG went to 17-18mpg.. which placed it squarely in the Wrangler territory.

I went in, looking for a Wrangler, but the local dealership didn't have the one I went down to originally see (They sold it, the night before.. hilariously, the buyer has already traded it back in), so on the way back, I saw the Gladiators and decided to check them out.

... and here we are, now. Better vehicle, a LOT more capable, can actually tow something larger than a lawnmower, AND better MPG on top of that.

I had a 1988 4runner. LOVED that truck. The old 42-RE engine and 5 speed. Removable roof (although at the time I was apartment living so no where to store it). I had mine with 31x10.5s and it looked awesome. Then some bimbo pulled in front of me and that was that. It was repaired but not right so I traded it for a Chevy Extra cab 4x4 Silverado in '94. Beautiful truck but RIGHT after the factory warranty expired the PCM crapped out and they wouldn't replace it. Still ran but sometimes wouldn't start. That's when I got my first Jeep...a '95 Cherokee sport. A year later, traded it for a '93 GC Laredo and never looked back. Been Jeeps ever since (see sig ;) ).

Was splitting daily driver duties between a beater 2005 Honda Accord and my 2007 JKU Sahara. Got rid of the Honda and added a 2021 JT Mojave in it's place. Now the JK becomes the daily!

Sold a 2013 Nissan Frontier (60K miles) and a SWEET 2005 (2 door) Wrangler Unlimited with under 50K miles. Funded the 2021 Gladiator.

We downsized to a condo and didn't have parking for both so Vlad the Glad covers both bases.

Before my JT, my truck was a 2011 Silverado (averaged about 6500 miles/year)
and my DD was a CUV 1982 Eagle SX4 or one of my Javelins and for a while, a 2004 WJ.

My JT is now my truck AND my daily driver, about 11,000 miles/year.

Sold the Silverado, my 70 Javelin (to help pay for the JT) and my WJ and the other cars sit a lot.
So it replaced multiple vehicles.

Traded my 2014 Camaro SS convertible and my wife's Chrysler Town and Country minivan for the Mojave. Gave my wife my Buick Enclave and still have the 99 TJ.

2005 V8 4Runner. Not terribly exciting to drive, but that thing will survive the apocalypse. I keep up on Fluid Filming the frame so it was the rare 4Runner without any undercarriage rust.
