What winter kit do you keep?

I used to have a duffel full of woolens when I worked on a 10k foot mountain in AZ, in addition to the tin of granola bars in the truck (for avoiding lunch stops, etc) and the various tools and flashlights I would have had anyway.

The one time I got seriously stuck on that mountain and had to hike a couple miles in a blizzard, that duffel was still in my truck. The truck that got stuck was a different one and I was a passenger! Good lesson in remembering to watch the forecast and throw my bag in the other guy's truck!

Those of you with real winters, how are you carrying water? It can go well below zero F here at night, and while most bottled water will survive a few freeze/thaw cycles, eventually they burst.

Anti-Freeze. Duh. Makes a great sweetener I’ve heard.

No for real though if you carry water in plastic containers just leave a few inches at the top empty. The water will freeze into the path of least resistance. Also if you have a pack that you use to store blankets and tarps and stuff put your water store in there. It can add just enough insulation to keep things liquid.

In my Gladiator, since it has a covered and locked bed, I keep a bottle of 50/50 Mopar coolant, a quart of Mobil 1 EP 0w20, and even a small bottle of Mopar power steering fluid.

I can guarantee you that soon I will be carrying a spare canbus star connector in both of my Jeeps. $22 on Amazon...cheap insurance.

Here are other things I keep year round that I forgot to mention....
-Tire repair kit
-First aid kit (nice one)
-Batteries (CR123, Aa)
-Fire extinguisher
-Duct tape
-Single burner tiny backpack stove and fuel.
-US Army survival book.

I´m sure there is more. I have a Tuffy tailgate locking cabinet where I keep tons of stuff.
