In early 1963, Willys Motors changed its name to Kaiser Jeep Corporation.

If I had to guess, I would say a 1964 Jeep Gladiator.

Tail lights, if original, usually have a number sequence printed on the bottom. More pics would help.

It’s pre-1971.
AMC bought the Jeep brand in 1971.

So that narrows it down to 1964-1970.

That will tell you the first year that style taillight lens was used.

Your best bet, try running the serial number through the BMV (DMV) of the State it was abandoned in.

VIN wasn't a requirement when that was made. Looking at turn signal/tail light lenses will help, but only give you a time frame and not a definite manufacture date.

Unfortunately, you get into the old vehicles, short of finding the build sheet there is nothing to give you a born on date.

'63 or '64 could be good, as 15648 is a sequential number starting at 10000 in '63, not sure how many j-200's got made that year. '65 would be a j-2000.

AMC technically bought Jeep in 1970 for 75 mil.
Due to the time it takes to change things over, engines and such weren't AMC until 72.

The 71 Jeep Hurst Commando, for example, was supposed to have a production number of 500, but AMC cut that to 100. So AMC was in charge for the 71 model year.

I have a new old stock alternator for a Willys. The alternator was made in the 28th week of 1964 if anyone needs one for a 65. ? Still in the box.
