I was just curious what the best drop in filter for the 3.6 ? Since I've been seeing lots of posts saying that CAI are a waste of $. Is the Mopar or K&N a good choice. Or which one is better?

Jeep makes a high flow filter non oiled for the standard air box, it is what they ship with the cold air kit and is what I am running. I believe Kurt posted he has an AEV perhaps that had a bumped out section but still fit in standard air box....Jack

Nothing with oil that's for sure. Unless you also enjoy MAF problems.
Every forum has these posts. You will never have a problem with a PROPERLY oiled filter. So out of the box K&N drop in works just fine. They've sold hundreds of thousands of them over the decades.

Never had an issue with KNN. I traded a 15 year old Volvo Turbo which had a KNN for 15 years, not an issue...

Disagree. I had a factory oiled K&N on a new Harley with an S&S carb. I decided to rejet it around 2000 miles and when I took the filter off you could see a perfect line of oil and dirt coming from the filter going through the carb. I threw it away and never bought another.
