I was eating in my LJ in a Taco Bueno parking lot. An asshat in a Honda with a fart can muffler parked on my passenger side. He slammed his door into my Jeep VERY hard. I couldn't help but start laughing. The look on his face was priceless when he saw the crease in his door where he hit my Shrockworks rockers.
Over the years. I've had a lot of idiots hit the rock rails on my Power Wagon with their doors. Watched a fat woman park a little too close to the truck. Swing the door open into the rock rail. Then try to squeeze out. she couldn't do it. Gets back into the car. and moves it over a few inches. Tries again to open the door and squeeze out. Still can't get out. She had swung her door open 3 times. Each time hitting the rock rail. Finally got fed up and found another parking spot. As she found her new spot. I drove passed her laughing my ass off.

MEK, Methyl Ethyl Ketone, will eat the paint off of it.
I used to wash my hands in that shit. It will remove all the oil in your skin, and turn it white.

Similar to acetone - which is called the universal solvent because it will absorb water, grease, oil, etc. and ruin your skin.

Got my first small ding and pretty pissed about it. I always thought I was safe from them as I have the tubular Mopar sidesteps but the problem is on all the new model Honda, Toyota and the other CRV types the rear door has around 10" over its wheel so even if the lower part of the door doesn't come close, that over the well part will nail you. Back to parking away from the careless in the back of the lot. Side steps are proving worthless. lol $100 pdr.

Yeah I know the whole it creates character, or normal for Jeep ect ect. Not for me, the Jeep stays clean.
I have mopar lift and overland side steps on mine with 37" tires and park in any spot I like and after 2 years and 5 months and 50,000 miles I haven't got a single one. My last truck (1500 ram) looked like it had been hailed on from the sides. So you need to be reasonable here...you should be lifted and on at least 35's like a proper gladiator would be...just saying, that door ding is on you. ;)

Gotta get some RSE steps/sliders I’ve seen other peoples door edges get destroyed when the hit lol
I have RSE sidesteps, the optional rock guards & additional steel side body armor by bodyguard. I got it because it looks neat but I can see where it could assist in protecting the sides from door ding ? damage. I’m also running 37s on a 3” lift, it’s taller than most non lifted vehicles. I’m sure they would find a way but it may help from unintended dings.

Lucky, sometimes here in Florida they just say they don't have insurance and you have to decide whether you want the premium to go up or not. A few years this dude in a new Benz hit one of my employees in a company car and was instructed by someone to say that he didn't have insurance. Oddly enough he got out of it.
I had a gal try that with me once. First she tried claiming she didn't hit my car. We were sitting in it at the time. After I showed her how her door aligned perfectly with the ding, she wasn't going to give me her info. I said fine, then we'll just let the police sort it out. Luckily there was one across the parking lot to point out. She was very cooperative after that.

It’s a new car until it’s first scratch or ding. Then it’s a Jeep. That’s science.

I had a similar situation happens with my LJ luckily right after my Rock Hard rock rails arrived that I installed immediately after arriving. But at County Court house in GA. I posted it in a different thread. The difference was this ass clown slammed his door deliberately into side of my LJ but not with them. Could have been a Mastercard commercial..... Priceless.
Scratches on doors of LJ from a miss encounter with some deer in S. GA. and brush. Dent in door my dumbass mistake. Brush scuffs on my JT I hit ditch to prevent head on with jackass on gravel road few miles from my place, first real scratch my mistake again cutting stuff on tailgate.

FYI: if I double post, dig up old threads or get off the rails... sorry got smoker going with pork tenderloins in between reading n posting and might be sipping some old Bourbon
