I wish I knew the answer. But I'll guess voodoo.Makes sense. I've always wondered how the factory gears got away without a break-in period. After seeing this, I assume they use a similar process.

Gears, when properly set-up shouldn't have any noise.Do you feel the REM polishing helps with the noise at all?
You don't have to let them cool off completely. Just give them a break for 10-15 mins.They aren't installed quite yet, but the polishing is to eliminate the 500 mile break in cycle. Hard to drive home 2 hours if you can only drive 20 minutes at a time then have to pull over and let it cool off completely.
What brand would you consider 'the best'?
