How wide are your tires going to be?Sorry, I chose the wrong word in my ineptitude
Offset was what I meant. Like I said, in the weeds.
I have not even gotten that far, since my understanding was obviously highly limited. How wide are your tires going to be?
As long as you like it that is all that matters as it is your JT, but IMO from a functional standpoint the scrub radius is incorrect, you will get a lot of bump steer, and when you flex the suspension the tires probably cannot tuck into the fenders and will hit the edge of the fenders. It also will not pass inspection in many states.Depends on what you mean by "well beyond". Adding wider tires and a lift that may require a certain backspace will give you some poke. My Metalcloak GC 3.5" requires a 4.5" backspace (I went 4.25" for margin of error). I have 37 x 12.5" tires on 17 x 9" wheels. They stick out about 3.5" That is purely due to a functional reason. Although I actually like a little poke myself.

You should have an idea of width before picking rims, because that's going to impact it a lot.I have not even gotten that far, since my understanding was obviously highly limited.
I am open to suggestions?
I laughed out loud at this because it is sooooo true. My wife would make fun of me because I would spend hours looking at wheels and measurements etc to make sure I got it right. And this is why man invented tequila
Not one word from my mouth.....I laughed out loud at this because it is sooooo true. My wife would make fun of me because I would spend hours looking at wheels and measurements etc to make sure I got it right.
She is NOW doing same for her JL .....bwhahahahahah. Who’s laughing now momma. <don’t tell her I said that>.
I would start with whatever “look” you want. Wheel look and style. Most, not all, have multiple sizes. At some point you will have to know whether you are a poking or not poking kind of gladiator owner. Pick the right offset and bs to give you what you want.Alright, so what is a proper plan of order?
Tires, wheels, poke/no poke ?
I disagree. We can leave it at that. Best not to debate this stuff with random strangers. ?As long as you like it that is all that matters as it is your JT, but IMO from a functional standpoint the scrub radius is incorrect, you will get a lot of bump steer, and when you flex the suspension the tires probably cannot tuck into the fenders and will hit the edge of the fenders. Nice poke you got there mi amigo .....12.5" wide on I think 4.75" backspace, could be 4.5" I forget.

Thank you, just enough. New fenders on their way are a tiny bit narrower so it'll show a little more. If I had the wider axles on the narrower fenders it would be even more. On the stock fenders tho the wider axles have wider fenders to match.Nice poke you got there mi amigo .....
