I have a theory that most Gladiator purchases are not required purchases, allowing the buyer to either have a lot of extra cash and pay MSRP, or be patient and pay on the buyer's terms.

Honestly every few months I have always had a need for a truck (new grill, 5 foot tall tool box, need lumber, etc) and I don't have a place for an occasionally used flat trailer (nor the time to make a trip home to get the trailer) since my 2 door wranglers made even going to the grocery store or sams club a game of tetris. So I was casually shopping for a used truck and these days 15k buys a truck with over 100k miles which is crazy to me so when they announced the launch edition orders I started looking it over but was unsure until I could see one face to face and drive it. 20 mile test drive and I was sold (was sold after 10 but you know the game). It gave me the wrangler I didn't want to give up and it gave me the convertible truck I have wanted since I was a kid. Did I need this particular truck? NO but I solved my needs and wants in one purchase. Now my problem is that my wranglers have always been fairly stock but for whatever reason the gladiator screams "accessorize me". I enjoy it, it rides well, but now I want toys like the mopar 2 inch lift and some more aggressive tires and whatever other fun I can find. All in all it was a present to myself.

Ram was out of warranty (the 5.7 in certain model years have a propensity to eat lifters around 130k), had two years left to pay and just sold my RV (no NEED for a full-size truck).... Drove the Gladiator and I liked it, made the numbers work and drove it home....

I have a 2019 Limited F-250 that will do all the heavy lifting. I’ve also had it on a road trip being towed behind my diesel pusher.
The Gladiator will get mixed into the rotation as a toy. It’s going in for its lift and tires etc. tomorrow.
It’ll will be the go to vehicle behind the RV. We go to Colorado a lot. Much rather have the JT then the Big Truck.
The boat is a little too much for the Gladiator that’s one reason I must have the Ford also.
At least that’s what I told my wife.

I have been waiting on this for maybe 5-10 years, with the many concept teases and rumors. I had a Tacoma that i was quite happy with, so wasn't locked in until I went on the test drive. Checked all the boxes for me, so I pulled the trigger.

Haven’t yet (Gator, Gator, Gator).... but I will because I have always wanted a CJ or JK, but they were not practical for me. I have owned three Grand Cherokee’s and they have been awesome. Finally getting to have a true Jeep with a Bed makes it practical. Can’t wait for Gator!

BTW - all of my Grand Cherokee’s have identified as a Truck.

@primethios same thing here, gladiator solves my needs and wants in one purchase. I need a truck, modern is nice, manual transmission is a must (family anti theft device) I want a convertable and I don't care about a 1star safety rating. I live in a state where people buy trucks and keep them until they or the truck dies. Lots of home mechanics around here. Sometimes you can get an okay deal but my used truck market is $15k for a 150 - 200k mile truck. $20k for 100k miles.... might as well just spend $10k+ to get a new one with no repairs and another few $k to get what I want.

The gladiator I ordered I got ~5.something% below invoice... I know i'm still paying a lot more for a new model year product but i'm buying a truck to keep until its dead. Here's hoping the gladiator goes 200,000.

My father in law's chevy silverado has 289,000

Been waiting years since we saw the green 2 door concept. F150 hit 100K and finished it's 100K certified warranty same time the JT came out. Sold F150 outright for 15K and got a good stripped down JT w 8 speed w Max Tow. All the stars aligned, including finding one on the lot instead of have to order and wait 8 weeks. Wanted to get back in a Jeep and needed a truck for deer hunting. Bed will come in handy for other stuff. I Would not buy a 4 door Unlimited, so this JT put me back in a Jeep ( my 5th) and gave me great Tow and a Bed. Best of all worlds where I sit. 20 MPG for now till I lift.

I’ve owned a lot of Jeeps and have been wanting a Jeep truck for a while. My fun car got totaled out by someone and figured the JT would be a good way to combine toy with practicality.
