Wrong. U joints. That's what is on mine.
Not with the full time 4wd option. It's called Rock-Trac on the Rubicon.

In case anyone doesn't know, generally speaking CVJs are actually stronger and are less prone to catastrophic sudden failure. Though their boots are vulnerable to being ripped, that doesn't immediately lead to failure.

Before I had my Gladiator, my only way to haul things was with a high end lightweight utility trailer. It's all Galvanized and Aluminum with a 5x8 dimensions and a perfectly flat floor that was only about 16 inches off the ground.

It is superior to any truck when it comes to doing "trucky" things.

I used to have an old truck to use for that kind of stuff, but sold it about 10 years ago and got this trailer. I'll never look back. It's simply easier as long as driving a trailer doesn't cause you any stress.

I've got a topper for my Gladiator so some large hauling is out of the question anyway.

I see the convenience factor of a trailer......you get all kinds of new friends lol.

For me, a truck is more convenient then having a trailer take up space when not in use. A lot of variables to consider.

I agree. No need to store the truck if it's your daily driver.

I have a home in a rural area and a home in a relatively urban area. If I just lived in the urban area, I wouldn't have the room for a trailer. So yes, storage is a factor for many.

As far as having lots of friends. I stress a lot less loaning out my trailer now than I used to loaning out my truck. Ha.

Overall, I think having a Gladiator with a topper and an open 5x8 (actually 5'2" x 8' 3" , so sheets of plywood or sheetrock fit easily with no damage) trailer is the best of all worlds. I've got tons of protected space and a great way to haul stuff in the open.

By the way, I recently brought my dad's Harley to get fixed. Let me tell you how much easier it was to get that 600 lb motorcycle up onto the trailer than it would have been to get it on a truck. Crazy easy.

Likely just economics and scale.. Jeep sells three times more Wranglers than they do Gladiators. It probably doesn't make sense for Jeep to introduce the build complexities (inventory, new part numbers, build codes etc..) and new parts (XR fender flares), for the relatively few they would sell compared to Wrangler.

But I get it ... the XR build is a really good deal for what you get.
they are the same fenders as a rubicon
