My Uconnect has not worked shortly after I picked up my Gladiator in April of 2020 and for the last three months my Wifi has not worked although it states it is enabled.

First the Uconnect has not worked basically since I picked my Jeep up. I have brought it back a couple of times and was told it was reset and updated. Of course it still didn't work. I spent countless times on the phone with Uconnect trouble shooting it because the dealership can't swap out the head unit without authorization. During some of these trouble shooting events I stood out in the rain while the agent had me go through attempting to start the Jeep, lock it and sound the alarm and after each attempt failed the agent asked me if I were sure it wasn't working. I was assured by each agent that I had spoke to that when this issue is resolved I will still get my free year. During this wonderful customer service experience I recently moved from NY to Nashville, TN and alerted Uconnect of this and they informed me they would give me a thirty day extension to get a dealership to have the system once again looked at, I guess my "free" year of Uconnect had expired. I am tired of bringing my Jeep in for service and being without a vehicle for a day or two to be told "with this new update everything should be resolved" and of course it has not been. Also I was also told by the dealership they have loaners but when I get there the two loaners they have are already out.

Second the Wifi crapped out a few months ago and after finding out who to contact for this problem after being sent around from Uconnect, AT&T and the dealership a couple of times I finally spoke to an AT&T agent who said they would help me reset the Wifi but after a while of trying I was told to go to the dealership and they blamed it on Uconnect. I really don't think at this point I would want Uconnect but I did pay for the Wifi for an additional three or four years upfront. Also the Jeep and all of its standard and optional equipment should be in working order if you use them or not.

Has anyone else experienced these issues and if so how did you resolve it? I will again bring it to a dealership here but I need to find a better one than the one I recently went to for an oil pan drain nut. I waited at the parts window for twenty-five minutes even though the service writers were paging him. Oh I needed the nut because of a free Wave oil change where the tech almost rounded the entire nut.

The Dealer should have activated the Uconnect system before you left the lot. There has to be an active SiriusXM Guardian subscription for the features to work, and it has to be renewed every year.

The WiFi in the cab is an additional monthly charge. It is a service provided by AT&T. I don't know how the billing is done. Most cellular devices include Data, so this doesn't get used by a lot of people.

The Uconnect system relies on a cellular connection through AT&T to communicate with the SiriusXM servers. They rely on roaming agreements in areas where AT&T has no coverage. If the cellular service is poor, the Uconnect remote functions are not going to work well.

You could have a defective head unit, or one that was never properly activated. Have any of the Uconnect Remote Features ever worked? Does your online Mopar account show your SiriusXM Subscription information?

Thanks for your response.

The system was set up and a test call to SiriusXM Guardian worked. When setting up the AT&T Wifi I was asked if I was interested in extending the plan I did pay extra for the extension. At least the SiriusXM worked from day one. I am just tired of being bounced back and forth like a ping pong ball from Uconnect to AT&T then to the dealership and back again and then during all of this being solicited to purchase another year of SirusXM Guardian so I stay "connected" and my safety won't be at risk.

People said to get in touch with JEEP CARES - I don't know if that would help

SiriusXM Guardian activation is a train wreck.

I've had a list of vehicles, 6 so far with their services and not one time has it correctly activated, every time SXMG insists the vehicle is defective and must return to the dealer. They are fucktards and have no idea what they are talking about.

After spending hundreds of hours on the phone with SXMG and writing JeepCares and Uconnect engineers and customer care specialists, I have intimate knowledge of what causes almost every SXMG problem that can exist, because I've had all of them at one time or another.

The issue you are having seems simple enough to me. If your Jeep can't accept remote commands, and when you press the assist buttons on the touchscreen, they just take you back to the your services aren't activated and then the activation screen, then your system was never provisioned correctly by SXMG. It happens because your vehicle MTN was not updated when the services were activated and the AT&T system is trying to send messages to a phone number (MTN) not programmed into your hotspot, which is what controls the assist calls and remote commands.

I've dealt with this before. You need to reach out to JeepCares and have them open a case with a Uconnect specialist. You will need to give them info, they will reach out to SXMG and get higher level tech support involved. This tier of tech support will force the correct provision to your vehicle. This will change your MTN programming in the vehicle to match what AT&T has on file and everything will magically start working 3-4 days after they tell you to reset your personal data, a procedure they will email you.

When you activated your hotspot, you should have received an email stating what phone number was assigned to your vehicle from AT&T

If you access the engineering menu in your vehicle by holding down the driver temp up and down buttons with the ignition off and switching it to on, you can go into the modem screen and the field MTN should say the same number AT&T emailed you.

I bet it doesn't and until it does, none of your stuff will work.

This is gold, thank you.

My remote start from the app is not reliable. Not thrilled to find it not running when its been in the 100s lately.

I hate for shit to not work on my car. I renewed the guardian service this year but I found that with the taser, I can turn it all off. If it's not there, it doesn't exist. Unless they get some programmers to make it work much better, it will be gone next year.

Just read though this. Man your experience sucks. Sorry youā€™ve had to deal with this. You must love your Jeep. Iā€™ve fortunately not had these type of issues but I do think Uconnect sucks. Iā€™ve had Ford, GM and Chrysler vehicles and Uconnect is by far the worst Iā€™ve had IMHO, however I love my Jeep and so itā€™s not a deal breaker for me. Hope Jeep Cares helps get this resolved for you!
