All comes down to your budget and what you plan to do with your Jeep. Not everyone who gets a Mojave or Rubicon ever use it to all it's potential. And that being said, a basic Jeep is quite capable. See to many of them at the mall with expensive wheels that are to nice to get muddy. Get what you can afford! Regardless of model - the Gladiator will bring smiles all day long.

I know there are some real trail warriors out there. But any Wrangler or Gladiator on 35/37s will do more than most people will attempt.

I was trading in a 15 Rubicon and had a great trade value so I bought a Mojave so I could slap on 35s with no other mods and have a soft suspension for the crappy streets in New Orleans. If you want to run 37s you can carefully on stock suspension or do it with a 2” lift that keeps the expensive shocks and look super dope.

I've test driven a Willys with the mud tires and a Mojave with the AT tires.

The AT tires are MUCH quieter. The Mojave's suspension seems to be much better sorted. It doesn't hop as much on expansion bumps and generally seems to steer better. It also seems to have a softer ride without a penalty in handling.

With all that said, outfitted with similar amenities (hard top, cold weather, max tow on the Sport S, Safety group, upgraded radio) the price difference vtwtween a Sport S and a Mojave is over 10k.

At that point the only difference is all the little Mojave chassis tweaks, the high fenders, wheels/tires, and rear locker.

I'm not going to be doing heavy off roading that will require a locker. So I was thinking of saving $10k and buying take-off Rubicon or Mojave wheels and adding them to a max tow sport S and calling it a day.

With all that said, I'm still vacillating.
Keep reading people writing that a Mojave or Rubicon is 10K more than a Sport S. Simply not true. The basic Sport with no power package is 10K difference. If you compare a Sport S it’s about 5. If you add the Max Tow to a Sport S to get the 4.10 rear ended the difference is about 4. If you want to put a 35” tire, the difference is even less because you can sell Rubicon or Mojave takeoffs for more money and do it more quickly.

I know there are some differences in regions and at particular dealerships. Also at the end of the year there are more incentives on Sport Models. But the difference is not 10K. Early on when dealerships were packing lots with totally loaded Rubicons people would say there was at least a 20k difference. That wasn’t right either. People just get too lazy to look around or too impatient to order what they want.

There is much more to the Max Tow package than the 4.10 gears. When I similarly equipped a Mojave and a Sport S Max tow, the difference was about $6,000.

Completely understand there is more to the Max Tow that the gear ratio. Point to adding that is it also has the wider axles of the Mojave and gets closer to an apples to apples comparison.

I just get tired of someone who hasn’t looked at options and goes to a dealership and sees 2 Jeeps, one being a loaded Mojave and the other being a lightly optioned Sport S and then declaring that all Mojaves are 20K more than Sports.

I saw a loaded Willys that had a higher sticker than a base Mojave. Mojaves are obviously cheaper.

Ordered my 2021 Mojave with leather, big radio, aux switches, 8 speed, cold weather, trail rail and the blind spot package, black freedom top and fenders. Basically everything but the Adaptive cruise. Sticker was $57,800. Got 6% below invoice. After TT&L it came out to right at 54k. This is in the Houston, TX area. Got lucky and it was only 28 days from the day it was ordered till it was delivered. Basically get what you want and can afford. Life is short and you can’t take it with you. If you don’t find what exactly what you want and can wait, order it, you will probably get a better deal that way. Plus they stick your name on the window sticker. ???

Not really adding much to the discussion other than to note that a dealer in my neck of the woods has twenty eight (28) Mojave's in stock; ALL of them w/ MANUAL transmission and none with MSRP exceeding 47,300:

https://www.ourismanchryslerdodgeje...tor&trim=MOJAVE 4X4&sortBy=internetPrice desc

And before you get excited about $10,000 off the sticker they advertise, be mindful of the fact that destination (1495) and processing (500) are not included in the sale price; they also include ALL applicable BS rebates; and add some "Dealer Protection" package (without actually specifying how much that costs).

I am a little puzzled by the fact that one dealer would order so many similarly spec'ed units AND all with a manual. Who is in charge of their ordering department? Strange...

My first nice 1911 was a Baer Premier 2. Great gun. Great value. But the Dan Wessons are amazing values. Niighthawk is man jewelry. Which is fine. But they don't shoot any better than a Dan Wesson. Ha.

The difference between guns and cars is that if you buy the gun right, and hold it for 5 years, you will be able to sell it for more than you paid.

Buying a gun isn't really spending money. Its more like parking it.
Dang, that’s a heck of a first 1911. The Baer is freaking sweet. Not sure why I want a Knighthawk, I just do.

That ain‘t no joke. Really tempted to offload some stuff at a huge proffit, but man I hate getting rid of any of em.

Nighthawk will be around. I still miss some I sold to fund others, just my 2 cents but my advice would be to wait.

Crazy! I couldn't even find a manual to test drive a month ago around these parts. I was leaning that direction but like the auto and didn't want to be disappointed.

The dealer I bought from happened to have the buyer like the black satin grill. I couldn’t find one then I found a dealership with 10 that all had it. If I was doing the ordering I think I would have more variety rather than just what I like. Would seem to reach more customers that way. In the end I found the one I wanted there, but also puzzled.

Personal experience - Willys all the way, and here's why; most people use their Jeep for a daily driver rather than blasting across the desert at 60mph. I know some of you are avid, hard-core off-roaders, no disrespect to those people at all, but...there are many who just use their Jeep to get from here...to...there. Again, personal experience, I had a 2018 JKU Rubicon that I took off-road once. Yep, lockers, 4:10 gears, 33" tires, 4:1 ratio T-Case, swaybar disconnect - all of that so I could drive on I-75 back and forth to work each day.
You do you - if you think that you need a Mojave, then go on with your bad self! On the flip side, if you just want one for status (Marty McFly: "Check out that 4x4") then why spend the extra $10k?

I bought my Mojave there and while it was a pain in the neck, I did negotiate all those BS fees out of it. I basically just added back in destination since they like to play a game about that...but even adding in $1495 my price was incredibly low compared to other dealers. My OTD price was several thousand below MSRP, and within $2k of a much lesser equipped lower trim level. I asked them about having all the manual Mojave Gladiators and they said it's there thing...people fly in from all over the US because of their selection.

Ultimately I would have preferred to order exactly what I wanted, but my other rig sold unexpectedly (high offer that I didn't want to turn down), so I was under the gun to find a replacement quickly.
