Please Jeep Gods, grant us some axles compatible with Eaton TruTrac and Mojave frames across the range. Would a hood with functional and dry air flow be too much of a pile on?

I got the Mojave. It really depends on you, I live in BFE and the land where levels could be built on the terrain. I couldn’t be happier with it. The roads out here are crap and I’ve honestly never ridden in a stock Vehichle that rode better on our crap roads. We’ve had nothing but nice rides, Denali, Mercedes etc.

It’s perfect for us. I don’t know what you do or your AO so I really cant say. We don’t plan on insane off roading, but do plan on going places, couple hours and were out of the flat lands. The mojave fits our needs and wants. Itā€˜s not perfect, we canā€˜t do everything in any of the models I’ve seen, but the Mojave fits us.

What do you plan on doing? Read through some great threads here and see what buyers say. Test drive them both thoroughly and take the mojave at 40 down the roughest road you got.

Mojave ....... The suspension and DD ride quality is great! Better than expected as I did not test drive one prior to ordering ...

Oh my God, that hurts to look at. Was it fixed under warranty? What caused it? The LSD is a must-have on my list of options.
I didn’t try to get it warranted. I imagine it wasn’t quite up to 37s on the rocks.

I've test driven a Willys with the mud tires and a Mojave with the AT tires.

The AT tires are MUCH quieter. The Mojave's suspension seems to be much better sorted. It doesn't hop as much on expansion bumps and generally seems to steer better. It also seems to have a softer ride without a penalty in handling.

With all that said, outfitted with similar amenities (hard top, cold weather, max tow on the Sport S, Safety group, upgraded radio) the price difference vtwtween a Sport S and a Mojave is over 10k.

At that point the only difference is all the little Mojave chassis tweaks, the high fenders, wheels/tires, and rear locker.

I'm not going to be doing heavy off roading that will require a locker. So I was thinking of saving $10k and buying take-off Rubicon or Mojave wheels and adding them to a max tow sport S and calling it a day.

With all that said, I'm still vacillating.

I test drove more Gladiators than I could keep count of and honestly did not notice a great difference in highway and city driving among any of them. I took most over the same residential road with the most annoying speed bumps Asheville has to offer and came away with the take that Gladiators (and JL Wranglers) drive pretty darn great in any trim level. Especially noticeable if you've driven JKs and older model Jeeps. If your needs and desires are to extreme wheel off-road, all bets are off; lockers, larger tires/clearance, disconnecting anti-sway bars and such definitely add capability. But keep in mind that the most basic un-optioned Sport is going to "climb circles around" your average 4wd pickup truck. These things are mountain goats. Plenty of videos on YouTube and Facebook of stock sport Wranglers tackling terrain I wouldn't dare to try.

There's a very real inclination for people to buy (and recommend) the best and most expensive, as well as a bias towards what we already chose to purchase ourselves. If you go on a 1911 forum, you can bet dollars to donuts that people with Nighthawk pistols will say they're the best, people with Les Baer saying they are, etc. Truth is, they're all fantastic but these recommendations are overkill for the average shooter wanting a reliable concealed carry or range gun. Same goes with everything from lawnmowers to dog breeds. People are so happy with theirs that it's natural to sing their praises. There's nothing wrong with that, just be aware of human bias when you ask a question such as "which trim level," "dog breed," etc. is "best." The real answer depends on your lifestyle and personal preferences, which you know better than any of us. I guess I just wrote the longest write-up ever to say get what you like that's in your budget and fits your needs. For the majority of buyers, you can scarcely go wrong with a Gladiator in any trim.

Around Michigan, Jeep groups drive slowly through the woods, so speed isn't a factor.

Mojave 100%. Add some 35’s to the stock suspension and you have the best of all worlds. If you live near tn or can fly in, Gupton motors does 8% below invoice. I just upgraded my Mojave for another one lol

Great post.

And for the record. Nighthawk, Les Baer, Dan Wesson, in that order. German Shorthaired Pointers, Honda.

Les was my grail 1911, got it then shot it and now want a Nighthawk. If Jeep’s are 1/2 as expensive as my 1911 habit I’m screwed.

Love my Springfield Mil-Spec but the Bersa Firestorm .45 is my go to EDC. The BP9CC is the dog walker. Saiga 12 for whatever comes down the street along with the SW AR. The M1 for the 30-06 sweetness. Pound rescues and never a Honda because I worked at a dealership. Moto Guzzi Big Blocks and Norton. Red Heads. Life is Good.

My first nice 1911 was a Baer Premier 2. Great gun. Great value. But the Dan Wessons are amazing values. Niighthawk is man jewelry. Which is fine. But they don't shoot any better than a Dan Wesson. Ha.

The difference between guns and cars is that if you buy the gun right, and hold it for 5 years, you will be able to sell it for more than you paid.

Buying a gun isn't really spending money. Its more like parking it.
