Winch mounting question

Amazon 500 amp solenoid, 2-0 positive cable from battery to solenoid.

Have one in my cart, just going to see if I can buy local first.

Have a brilliant idea to run a second set of wires off of it to the bed and put a plug in for an air compressor. Won't need 500 amps for it, but would save me a switch and not have that lead powered at all times as well. Would never run both at the same time.

Here is how I routed my positive winch cable and shutoff solenoid. The solenoid trigger goes to an aux switch.

Where did you get the solenoid bracket? I like that set up. I assume the solenoid contact is normally open and the aux switch activation closes it thus providing power to the winch? Also is the coil on the solenoid momentary or maintained (ie: requires continuous 12 power to stay closed)

yes, it is normally open and closed only when powered through the auxiliary switch. I made the bracket by bending a piece of sheet metal.

It is momentary, lose the 12v and it opens.
