Wiper cowl - has anybody painted theirs?

I've seen some other posts here, and I'm wondering if anybody has tried painting their wiper cowl. It's looking really faded, like it's much older than the truck itself, and I can't see why taking it off and spray painting it a dark grey or a matte black wouldn't work in keeping it looking good, especially if I finished it off with a light coat of gloss. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I will get a color matched one in the near future, other otherwise I'd clean and prep it and spray it with some Rustolum bed spray. Super easy product to work with and holds up well

I did on the 2020 JT. Get Krylon Fusin for plastic. Easy to remove the cowl part. Matt black or flat black. It works to return the color. There big fenders will get the same treatment after 5 years. Also did the fenders on a 2005 TJ-L. Removed them first. Makes a big difference in presentation and maintenance.

I treated it with a ceramic coating. I looks much more glossy in person. We'll see how long it lasts.

I painted mine Sarge Green last year. So far, so good. If I could go back in time, I would use two-part clear coat spray paint (the kind with a built-in hardener in the spray can) instead of regular clear coat because it supposedly lasts longer.
